Austin, Texas’ Democrat Mayor Steve Adler was caught in an extreme case of hypocrisy when he told residents to “stay home” to combat COVID-19 as he vacationed in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Cabo San Lucas is a resort city and popular vacation spot on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula.

During a video filmed on November 9th, Adler told Austinites, “Our numbers are increasing, and we need to stay home if you can. Do everything you can to try and keep the numbers down. This is not the time to relax.”

“We may have to close things down if we’re not careful,” he added with a suspicious smile.

The catch is, Adler failed to tell viewers he was speaking from a family timeshare in Cabo.

The Democrat mayor hit the beach with eight family members for a whole week, leaving the day after attending his daughter’s wedding.

The wedding was outdoors with social distancing, masks, and all guests allegedly had to be tested for COVID-19 before attending.

At the time of the wedding, Austin was under Stage 3 guidelines, which suggest no gatherings of more than 10 people.

However, according to the Austin American Statesman, there were at least 20 guests at the marriage ceremony.

One of the guests, a high-profile wedding photographer, was flown in from Colorado.

For the record, Austin, Texas is home to hundreds of amazing wedding photographers.

The day after Adler’s family left for Cabo, Austin’s top health authority, Dr. Mark Escott said, “If you are going to go out to a restaurant, go out with your family, the people who live in your household, not the family or friends who don’t live in your household. And start to decrease those travels outside of your home that are not necessary.”

Adler released a statement after receiving backlash for the hypocritical actions.

“Every day since March, I repeat that being home is the safest place for people to be. Only at our most trying moments, like around Thanksgiving, have I asked people not to travel as part of extra precautions. Several weeks ago, when my daughter cancelled her planned wedding to replace it with a COVID appropriate more private ceremony and when my family traveled, we consulted with health authorities and worked hard to model the kind of behavior I’ve asked of the community. We were in a lower risk “Yellow” level than now. It is always safest to stay home. However, we aren’t asking people never to venture out. We ask everyone to be as safe as possible in what they do. My family and I are no exception and we’ll continue to do as I ask of our community. During Thanksgiving and as anticipated for Christmas and the New Year, we should all be especially mindful.”

Adler is merely the latest Democrat politician to exhibit hypocrisy when it comes to obeying COVID-19 guidelines average citizens have to adhere to.

Even CNN slammed these elected representatives in a five-minute segment exposing SF Mayor London Breed, CA Gov Gavin Newsom, LA County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, and NY Gov Andrew Cuomo.
