Former Vice President Joe Biden will be wearing a walking boot after sustaining a foot injury over the weekend while playing with his dog, according to reports.
“Mr Biden, 78, twisted his ankle on Saturday when he slipped while [playing] with Major, one of his two German shepherds,” reports BBC News.
According to Biden’s attending orthopedist, Kevin O’Connor, a CT scan showed the Democrat presidential candidate suffered “hairline fractures” to his right mid-foot.
“It is anticipated that he will likely require a walking boot for several weeks,” O’Connor reportedly recommended.
Journalists on Sunday were reportedly barred from seeing Biden go into the doctor’s office, but The Guardian notes he was seen “visibly limping” as he left.
President Donald Trump sent well-wishes to Biden via Twitter Sunday.
Interestingly, the injury follows bizarre reports last week claiming a pet psychic spoke with Biden’s dogs, who told her they were excited to move into the White House and that their master would make “a great president.”
Should President Donald Trump’s attempts to challenge the 2020 election results fail, Biden at 78-years-old would be the oldest president to take office, putting questions about his physical and mental health front and center.
