Several bodies were removed from the Rio Grande in south Texas this week, according to reports.
Federal and local authorities in the Del Rio Border Patrol Sector participated in the recovery of nearly half a dozen deceased persons from the river.
It is believed the victims were migrants.
“5 bodies are pulled from the Rio Grande in the Eagle Pass area according to my source on the ground,” journalist Ali Bradley reported on Tuesday.
“Multiple agencies responded from the Del Rio Sector to recover the 5 male migrants from the river. The origin of the migrants is unknown at this time.”
Irene Armendariz-Jackson, a candidate for U.S. Congress in El Paso and wife of a Border Patrol agent, weighed in on the horrifying discovery.
“At least 5 bodies just pulled from the Rio Grande in the Eagle Pass area according to a source on the ground,” she wrote.
“This is what Democrats are pushing for when they push illegal immigration.”
Last week, Town Hall writer Julio Rosas shared footage of migrants being swept away in the Rio Grande while attempting to illegally cross into Texas.
“This shows how dangerous it is to try to cross the Rio Grande without a boat,” Rosas wrote.
“The group of migrants got swept away by the current and were screaming for Border Patrol and TX National Guard to help them. One BP agent got into the water to prevent a few from drowning.”
More than 153,200 encounters were officially recorded during the first five months of Fiscal Year 2022 in Del Rio Sector — a staggering 215% increase over the same period last year.
