Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott has announced he will be leaving his position after the Biden administration issued him an ultimatum to effectively ‘relocate, resign, or retire.’

Appointed by President Donald Trump, the 29-year veteran of Border Patrol is known for supporting the former president’s tough immigration policies, including construction of a full-scale border wall system.

Chief Scott briefed regional Border Patrol chiefs on Wednesday about his ouster, which was finalized by DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, multiple sources told the Washington Examiner.

Scott took the news public on his personal Facebook page in a post that now appears to have been deleted.

“I received my 3R letter today. For those not familiar, that is Federal government slang for the letter issued to SES level employees informing them of a directed reassignment,” he explained. “The recipient has 3 options- relocate, resign, or retire. No rationale or reason is required, nor is it disciplinary.”

“Just a simple needs of the service directed reassignment so the new administration can place the person they want in the position.”

Chief Scott says he will remain at his post for approximately 60 days to facilitate a “smooth” transition.

Signs of friction between Scott and the Biden administration have become increasingly apparent, as Infowars has reported.

In April, a leaked internal memo revealed Chief Scott staunchly pushed back upon orders for U.S. immigration agencies to discontinue use of terms like “illegal alien” and “assimilation.”

“This memorandum serves as my official nonconcurrence to the proposed updated terminology for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) communications and materials. I will not undermine this effort; however, I cannot endorse it,” Scott wrote in a letter addressed to Troy Miller, acting head of Customs and Border Protection.

Additionally, Scott warned Miller he was “concerned about the morale of our workforce.”

“To be clear, when I reference morale, I am not referring to an employee’s happiness. I am referring to an individual’s willingness to take personal risk each day to keep others safe,” Scott asserted at the time.

The news of Scott’s removal came within hours of an announcement that ‘border czar’ Kamala Harris will pay her first visit to the southern frontier amid a historic illegal migration crisis.
