A bus driver was savagely attacked by a large group of ‘youths’ as flash mobs wreaked havoc in Chicago this weekend, according to reports.

The disturbing incident unfolded at around 9 p.m. on Saturday in the downtown area of the Windy City.

The driver of a public bus, 49, had reportedly exited his vehicle to investigate a suspicious loud noise when he was jumped by a horde of ‘young people.’

A purported video of the ambush was shared on social media.

The victim was ferociously kicked and punched in the street by a number of suspects before police intervened.

“The man sustained bruises to the body and face and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition,” WGN9 reports.

“A 15-year-old boy was arrested shortly after the incident and placed into custody. He has been charged with aggravated battery of a transit employee.”

At least 21 juveniles were arrested during a night of mayhem described as a “large group incident” in the Loop district of Chicago on Saturday.
