Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), who portrays himself as a progressive social justice warrior, is facing new scrutiny over his family’s decades-long membership at an all-white country club.
Local media approached Whitehouse on Friday in Pawtucket to ask why the Bailey’s Beach Club in Newport hasn’t admitted any minorities yet.
“I think the people who are running the place are still working on that and I’m sorry it hasn’t happened yet,” Whitehouse said.
“It’s a long tradition in Rhode Island and there are many of them and I think we just need to work our way through the issues, thank you,” he added as he was ushered away by a staffer.
This isn’t the first time Whitehouse was asked about the racially exclusive country club.
GoLocal news editor Kate Nagle first confronted Whitehouse about his club membership and lack of minority members in 2017.
“I think it would be nice if they (Bailey’s Beach Club) changed a little bit, but it’s not my position,” Whitehouse told her.
When pressed if he’d pressure the private club to admit minorities, Whitehouse responded, “I will take that up privately.”
Bailey’s Beach Club is not an ordinary club, but one of the most exclusive and prized clubs among the elite in America.
“The New York Times wrote about the club more than a decade ago…’People kill to belong to the beach,’ said Beth Pyle, whose twin sister, she added, has never quite made it into the club. ‘It has really driven some people crazy when they don’t get in,’” GoLocal reported.
This blatant hypocrisy displayed by Whitehouse is just par for the course for Democrats.
Contrast Whitehouse with the supposedly racist Nazi Donald Trump, who opened Mar-a-Lago resort to blacks and Jews in the 1990s.
“When Donald opened his club in Palm Beach called Mar-a-Lago, he insisted on accepting Jews and blacks even though other clubs in Palm Beach to this day discriminate against blacks and Jews. The old guard in Palm Beach was outraged that Donald would accept blacks and Jews so that’s the real Donald Trump that I know,” author Ronald Kessler said in a July 2015 interview.
But Whitehouse is a Democrat and Trump is a Republican, so according to the media, Whitehouse is a saint and Trump is still a racist.
Would Malcolm X see the danger and hypocrisy of BLM or would he blindly follow the globalist social engineers into a race war?
