Democrats are wargaming how to proceed with persecuting Donald Trump and his supporters in special probes after the Senate vote to appoint an independent commission to investigate the January 6 Capitol riot failed.

Senate Republicans filibustered Friday the proposal to launch a 9/11-style commission to probe the Capitol riot, forcing Democrats to consider a Plan B.

Though no specific plan has yet emerged from Democrat leadership, CNN is reporting that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is considering launching her own partisan select-committees to investigate.

“House Democrats are actively considering mounting a probe of their own into the January 6 US Capitol attack, signaling they don’t plan to let the issue go away,” the outlet reported.

“Speaker Nancy Pelosi has made clear repeatedly that moving to create a select committee has always remained a fallback option — something that would require the support of a majority of the Democratic-led House to create. And a number of Democrats said on Friday that they believe Pelosi will indeed create the new committee — and that the caucus would strongly support such an effort.”

RINO Senator Bill Cassidy (La.), who voted to impeach Trump in January, claimed Pelosi will likely drag on her own investigative committee of the Capitol riot “for years.”

“Without this commission, there will still be an investigation,” said Cassidy, who also voted with five other Senate Republicans to set up the independent commission.

“But it will be a House-select committee set up by Speaker Pelosi — the nature of which will be dictated by Democrats and would stretch on for years.”
