Chief White House medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci warned this week that Americans who aren’t vaccinated or boosted will soon be in “trouble” for failing to comply.
Appearing on Los Angeles radio station KNX’s In Depth show on Tuesday, Fauci talked masks, new vaccines, long Covid and Joe Biden.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) claims nearly 80% of Americans have been given one dose of a Covid jab with around 65% receiving a second and less than 50% getting a booster.
Questioned about a decline in vaccination rates, Fauci said it is “discouraging” that people aren’t getting boosted and claimed it’s because they’re exhausted by the pandemic over the past couple of years.
He also said the “unvaccinated,” “people with underlying conditions,” and the “elderly” could be in danger this Winter if they don’t get the shot.
“There are enough people who don’t fall into [high-risk] categories, that if they don’t get vaccinated, if they don’t get boosted, they’re going to get into trouble,” Fauci said, warning they could even die.
Later in the discussion, Fauci mentioned Covid-19 is “doing something, unfortunately for us as a civilization, is doing something we’ve never seen any other virus do.”
“To continue to evolve with new variants that evade the prior immune response and the durability of the response, whether you’re infected or whether you’re vaccinated and boosted, the durability of protection against infection is measured by a matter of months as opposed to with measles where the durability is measured in decades if not a lifetime,” he said.
Fauci continued to explain the durability of protection against reinfection once you’ve been infected or vaccinated for polio “is measured by decades and not in several months. That’s not something we’ve ever had to deal with.”
On Monday, Fauci complained about citizens being too skeptical of authorities, saying, “It’s very difficult to get people to adhere to commonsense public health measures.”
The next wave of Covid should come along just in time for the Democrats to engage in their Midterm election mail-in ballot schemes used to rig the voting system.
