Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo delivered a fiery America First address during the Conservative Political Action Committee, touting President Trump’s historic foreign policy shift away from the globalist paradigm.
During his lengthy CPAC 2021 address in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday, Pompeo broke down Trump’s foreign policy initiatives, including unprecedented Middle East peace deals, negotiations with North Korea, and push for NATO to pay its fair share of regional security.
“’America First’ is right for America,” Pompeo said. “The entire world benefits when America is fearless and bold and strong.”
Pompeo derided the Democrats for their radical policies, including their paradoxical push to defund the police while maintaining a massive National Guard presence in at the Capitol.
“[Democrats] want to defund the police while they barricade the Capitol,” Pompeo said. “This is backwards. And canceling our freedom to assemble peacefully while censoring our communications online is completely antithetical to what our founders understood about America.”
Pompeo also scorched the left’s job-killing Green New Deal ambitions, calling the globalist Paris Climate Accord a “fantasy for elite diplomats” who want to virtue signal.
“The Paris agreement was a fantasy for elite diplomats who just wanted to virtue signal & when Biden reentered this deal I can tell Xi Xinping was smiling every single minute & the American workers lost,” he said.
“I hear Democrats pretend they care about jobs in America. But before the seats were warm in the Oval Office, they destroyed 10,000 jobs in a pipeline,” he added.
