Following the gruesome murder of a 12-year-old girl in Paris by an Algerian migrant who was in the country illegally, it has now been revealed that just 0.2 per cent of illegal Algerian migrants are deported from France.
The girl, known only as Lola, went to school on Friday last week but her parents never saw her again.
She was abducted by a 24-year-old Algerian woman named Dahbia B., who proceeded to rape, torture and murder the girl in a case that has shocked France.
After trying to sell the victim’s organs, the murderer bundled Lola’s body up in a suitcase before she was driven away by another Algerian man who has also been charged.
Lola had been stabbed multiple times, slashed in the throat and branded on her feet with the numbers 0 and 1.
It subsequently emerged that Dahbia B. was in France illegally as her student residence permit had expired and she should have been deported by authorities.
“The 24-year-old female suspect known as Dahbia B., who is an Algerian national, had come to France legally in 2016 on a student residence permit,” reports Remix News.
“Her permit, however, had expired, and on Aug. 21, she had been detained by border police at a French airport and issued an order to leave the country within 30 days.”
Official data shows that President Emmanuel Macron’s government has been totally inept at deporting illegal migrants, with only 0.2 per cent of Algerians given deportation orders actually being forced to leave France.
“In fact, of the 7,731 Algerians set for deportation between July to January 2021, only 22 have actually been sent back to their home countries, a rate of a mere 0.2 per cent,” writes John Cody.
“The overall deportation rate for those with deportation orders during the same period is only 5.7 per cent, according to French news media outlet BFMTV, which utilized official government data in its report.”
Macron made a 2021 promise to oversee a 100 per cent deportation rate, but the rate stood at 13.14 per cent in 2020, a number that has now shrunk to 5.7 per cent.
Marine Le Pen slammed Macron over the issue, accusing him of attacking those who are outraged over the problem rather than dealing with it.
“Too many crimes and offenses are committed by illegal immigrants that you did not want or failed to send back to their country of origin,” said Le Pen.
Official crime data shows that 48 per cent of all crimes in Paris are committed by foreigners.
