Distressing footage out of Zhengzhou, China, shows a trainload of stranded passengers waiting for help as water from recent floods has risen inside the cabin up to their necks.

The footage hit social media on Tuesday, showing several passengers stuck in trains full of water after the heaviest single-day downpour recorded in the region.

According to the BBC, rescue teams worked to extract people from the train as footage shows people attempting to keep their heads above the water.

Graphic videos hitting social media also show drowned train passengers appearing lifeless after being trapped in the floods and inside the submerged cabin.

Other alarming videos show the streets of Zhengzhou sustaining catastrophic flooding that has filled homes and businesses, flipped over vehicles and caused sinkholes to appear throughout the city.

One social media user documented an aluminum factory explosion as a result of the rains.

To make matters worse, the BBC reports the rains are set to continue for another 24 hours, and the Chinese military is warning that the Yihetan dam in the center of China could burst at any minute.
