How far does the Deep State's anti-religious spy ring extend?

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) issued a subpoena on Monday requesting information and documents from FBI Director Christopher Wray about the agency’s spying on local U.S. church members.

Jordan posted a copy of the letter he sent Wray on Twitter, writing, “We now know the FBI, relying on information derived from at least one undercover employee, sought to use local religious organizations as ‘new avenues for tripwire and source development.’ Chilling.”

According to the letter, the FBI’s scheme was to infiltrate “mainline Catholic parishes” and the local “diocesan leadership” in order to investigate “domestic violent extremism.”

The bureau also wanted to develop new sources within the church community, according to an undercover FBI employee cited in the letter.

Now, Chairman Jordan is requesting Wray hand over all documents related to the operation.

The subpoena comes after a memo leaked in February revealed the FBI relied on a Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) report as an excuse to monitor “radical traditionalist Catholics.”

Infowars will provide further coverage once Wray responds to Jordan’s letter.
