McDonald’s customers and staffers will be required to wear face masks at locations in counties with supposed “high or substantial rates” of COVID cases, according to reports.

Anyone entering a store in these areas must now don a mask, regardless of their COVID jab status, the company has announced.

While McDonald’s previously ended mask requirements for the ‘fully vaccinated’ in May, patrons and staffers who had not received an experimental injection were expected to continue suffering behind oppressive veils.

“The fast-food giant is the largest national chain to add the requirement back for both employees and customers following updated masking guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,” USA Today reported on Monday.

Last week, the CDC modified its ‘guidance’ on mask-wearing for injected individuals.

“To maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others, wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission,” the agency said in a July 27 update.

Apple is also now reportedly requiring shoppers to wear masks at stores in ‘COVID hospots.’
