The New York Times tweeted – then deleted – a message falsely claiming that only the news media can declare the winner of the presidential election.

“The role of declaring the winner of a presidential election in the U.S. falls to the news media. The broadcast networks and cable news outlets have vowed to be prudent. Here’s how it will work,” The Times tweeted Tuesday.

The Times quickly deleted the tweet after receiving backlash for pushing blatant disinformation.

The New York Times, nor any other news media source, is responsible for determining the outcome of the US presidential election. Instead, it falls to each states’ board of elections to round up the tallies from all the counties and determine which candidates receive electoral votes from that state,” the Post Millennial reported.

This is just another brazen attempt by the mainstream media to project themselves as the kingmakers of this election, obviously in favor of Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden.

Twitter essentially agrees with the New York Times, announcing Monday that they would only consider an election result “official” if two or more of seven news outlets make the call.

“We’ll consider a result official when announced by a state election official, or when calls are made by at least two of the below national news outlets that have dedicated, independent election decision desks,” Twitter said.

The news outlets are ABC News, Associated Press, CBS News, NBC News, Fox News, and Decision Desk HQ.

Owen predicts the Democrats will attempt to hold back on counting votes in order to steal the election from President Trump.
