A former top Olympian suffered serious injuries when she was attacked by a vagrant wielding a metal object during the weekend, according to reports.

Kim Glass, an indoor volleyball player who won a silver medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics, said she had just wrapped up lunch with a friend when she was ambushed by a violent bum.

“As I was leaving lunch, I was outside saying goodbye to a friend and this homeless man ran up,” Glass explained in a video posted to social media. “He had something in his hand. He was on the side of the car in the street, and he just looked at me with some pretty hateful eyes.

“I go to tell my friend, ‘I think something is wrong with him. I think he’s going to hit the car.’ Before I knew it, a big metal bolt, like a pipe, hit me. It just happened so fast. He literally flung it from the street.”

The suspect was reportedly arrested at the scene after being restrained by bystanders.

Glass, who is also a model, sustained gruesome injuries to her face, including multiple fractures around her eye, which was swollen shut when she shot a video update posted on Instagram.

It is not likely her vision will be impacted long-term, she was told by her optometrist.

Glass cautioned her followers to “stay safe” and remain alert in public.

“There’s a lot of mentally ill people on these streets right now,” she said. “You shouldn’t have to be fearful when you walk, but it’s true.”

Infowars frequently documents the explosion of violent crime plaguing Los Angeles and other American cities.

The revolution will not be televised.
