Multiple human smuggling attempts ended in crashes as drivers tried to flee authorities in south Texas this week, according to reports.

Another wild night unfolded in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector, one of Border Patrol’s busiest, as agents and Texas police were led on dangerous pursuits.

“Smugglers jeopardize the lives of many in their attempts to evade law enforcement,” RGV Sector Chief Patrol Agent Brian Hastings wrote on social media.

“In less than 12 hours, 3 smugglers led agents on vehicle pursuits, 2 of them drove through fences in desperate attempts to avoid apprehension. 16 people arrested.”

The first incident kicked off on Sunday evening on U.S. Highway 281 near San Manuel, TX.

The driver of a Dodge Charger ignored orders to stop and fled with Border Patrol and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers in pursuit.

“The Charger came to a stop, after being immobilized near FM 490. The driver, a United States citizen, and two occupants fled from the vehicle, but were apprehended shortly thereafter,” Customs and Border Protection (CBP) explained in a press release.

The passengers were identified as El Salvadoran nationals illegally present in the U.S.

After midnight, RGV agents in a helicopter were chasing a Dodge Ram near San Manuel when it crashed into a fence.

“As agents approached the vehicle, they discovered the driver had remained in the vehicle and an unknown number of subjects had absconded,” CBP says.

The driver, a U.S. citizen, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and turned over to Hidalgo County Sheriff’s deputies.

None of the passengers were located.

Hours later, the driver of a flatbed welding truck fled RGV agents, ultimately slamming into a fence and vegetation near Santa Elena.

“Agents searched the immediate area and apprehended 11 migrants from Mexico unlawfully present in the U.S.,” CBP says.

The driver reportedly escaped.

Chaos unfolds constantly along the Texas-Mexico border, as Infowars regularly reports.
