Former Trump Advisor Catalina Lauf announced on Tuesday she’ll be challenging anti-Trump GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger for Illinois’s 16th congressional district seat.
“Fake Republican Adam Kinzinger won’t put AMERICA FIRST— I will,” she wrote on Twitter. “That’s why I’m challenging him for his seat in Congress I am the daughter of LEGAL immigrants, a small business owner, & PROUDLY served in the Trump administration. Let’s send Adam home!”
Some readers may recognize Catalina and her sister Madeline from a video which aired during the first night of the 2020 RNC.
In the advertisement, the sisters explained how the Trump administration helped them achieve their goals as entrepreneurs navigating through the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2020, Lauf ran for the Republican seat in Illinois’ 14th Congressional District where she placed third in the primary and received more than 20 percent of the vote.
The man she hopes to unseat this time around, Adam Kinzinger, is one of only three House Republicans who voted to impeach President Trump.
Fox 32 Chicago covered the announcement in the following report:
