An illegal migrant was hit by a car and killed while fleeing police during a bailout on a Texas highway, according to reports.
The shocking incident unfolded in South Texas near the Mexican border cities of Reynosa and Nuevo Laredo.
Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) troopers pulled over the driver of a pickup truck suspected of transporting illegal aliens when things took a turn for the worse.
Footage of what transpired was provided to Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin.

“As TxDPS troopers were taking a human smuggler into custody in Brooks County, several illegal immigrants bailed out of his vehicle and ran,” Melugin reported on social media.
“One ran into the highway & was struck & killed by a vehicle. Smuggler charged w/ human smuggling causing death.”
Minutes later, Melugin shared photos from another migrant smuggling attempt that ended in tragedy in Texas on Thursday morning.
“At least four migrants are dead after another human smuggling crash in Laredo, TX this morning,” Melugin wrote.
“Per TxDPS, smuggler was evading and crashed into a big rig. Second deadly human smuggling incident in 24 hours. Two migrants died in crash in RGV yesterday.”
