Two men were brutally beaten during a recent robbery spree involving at least three suspects in New York City, according to reports.
The disturbing incident unfolded in the Inwood neighborhood of Manhattan on April 25, but police just released surveillance footage this week in hopes of locating suspects.
The pair of victims, aged 35 and 40, were walking along a sidewalk during the early hours of the morning when they were approached by a trio of thieves, at least one of whom was brandishing a firearm.
As one victim is being accosted by two suspects, the other takes a flying punch to the face, knocking him to the ground.
The puncher can then be seen wrapping his arm around the other victim’s neck and viciously body slamming him backwards to the pavement onto his back and head.
The man who was thrown appears to be knocked unconscious as the suspects rifle through his pockets and drag his limp body around.
Meanwhile, the other victim is stripped of valuables as a gun is pointed in his face.
The thieves reportedly made off with $1,320 in cash, jewelry, and an iPhone 13, among other items.
Moments later, they also robbed a 20-year-old woman who was sitting in a car nearby.
“Police said Wednesday that Angel Pimentel, of the Bronx, was arrested last Thursday and charged with robbery. Police believe the 29-year-old was the gunman in the two robberies,” 1010 Wins reports.
“The NYPD is still searching for the two other suspects. Police said video released Wednesday shows them inside of a lounge on W. 202nd street before the robberies.”
Both victims were treated for their injuries at the scene by EMS.
NYPD is asking anyone with helpful information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
