A waitress was abducted and assaulted before being abandoned on a highway after she confronted a group of diners who skipped out on their bill, authorities say.

The shocking incident unfolded at Nifty Fifty’s restaurant in Washington Township, New Jersey, on Saturday night.

The abduction was captured on surveillance camera.

“On 06/19/21 at approximately 23:15 hours the individuals pictured below finished a meal at Nifty [Fifty’s] in Washington Township. After dining they attempted to leave the restaurant without paying and a waitress attempted to stop them,” Washington Township Police explained in a statement on Facebook.

“The waitress was taken into the vehicle and the suspects drove away with the waitress in the vehicle. She was then assaulted and later left on the side of the road on State Highway 42.”

The 20-year-old victim managed to make her way back to the restaurant and call police.

She was reportedly treated at hospital for bruises and a possible concussion.

“They pulled her into the vehicle and assaulted her inside the vehicle,” Washington Township Police Chief Patrick Gurcsik told ABC6. “They’re having trouble finding wait staff due to the pandemic and she came out to confront them.”

“Do not chase after accused suspects and confront them yourselves.”

Investigators are still seeking three male and two female suspects according to the latest available information.
