An unsuspecting woman was violently shoved into the path of an oncoming train this week in the latest attack of its kind in New York City.

The incident unfolded on a subway platform in Times Square just after 8 a.m. on Monday morning, according to reports.

Surveillance footage released by the NYPD shows a black female suspect sitting on a bench on a busy platform ahead of the arrival of a northbound No. 1 train.

Just as the train is pulling in, the suspect can be seen leaping up and throwing her shoulder into the back of a 42-year-old female, sending her flying head first against the metro cars as they hurtled by.

While the victim did not fall onto the tracks, she did suffer serious injuries to her face and legs and was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment, authorities say.

On Tuesday morning, NYPD Transit Chief Kathleen O’Reilly announced a suspect had been arrested in connection with the attack, but no further details were available at the time of this writing.
