Authorities in Honduras arrested a violent suspect who charged into the cockpit of a plane preparing to depart for Miami on Tuesday, according to reports.

An American Airlines flight was in the boarding process on Tuesday afternoon at Ramon Villeda Morales International Airport in San Pedro Sula when a man reportedly ran down the jetway and stormed the cockpit.

He proceeded to damage some of the flight controls and attempted to escape from a window, authorities say.

Video purportedly showing the suspect hanging out of a cockpit window and also a photo of the vandalized controls were shared on social media.

“We applaud our outstanding crew members for their professionalism in handling a difficult situation,” American Airlines said in a statement.

“Crew members intervened and the individual was ultimately apprehended by local law enforcement.”

A replacement aircraft was later used to take passengers and crew onwards to the U.S.

It’s official: America is now in a civil war.
