Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has released border apprehension figures that reveal a drop of over 70 percent since the migrant crisis reached a crescendo in May.

The agency carried out 42,649 apprehensions in November, in sharp contrast to 144,116 just six months ago.

Total apprehensions of inadmissible foreign nationals have fallen every month since May.

Additionally, the number of family units entering from Central America has been reduced by over 85 percent in the same time period.

“Do not put your lives in the hands of smugglers. They are lying to you,” acting CBP chief Mark Morgan said in a press conference held to discuss the latest enforcement numbers.

“The era of catch and release is done. Coming to this country with a child is no longer going to be a passport in the United States. That is done.”

Morgan praised the Trump administration for its role in stemming the flow of illegal aliens into the U.S., along with cooperation from the governments of Mexico and Northern Triangle countries (Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador).

“I think where the credit really belongs is with this president and this administration because of the focus and initiatives that organizations like CBP and our partner agencies have implemented, and has caused those numbers to go down,” Morgan told Fox News host Brian Kilmeade.

“Mexico has stepped up in unprecedented ways, as well as the Northern Triangle countries, to collectively — with the United States — see this as a regional crisis,” Morgan said.

“Mexico has absolutely stepped up their interior enforcement operations and their southern border operations, and they are helping us with other programs like MPP [Migrant Protection Protocols], as well. It absolutely is working.”

United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents arrested a Guatemalan national with a previous rape conviction after he illegally re-entered the country via the southern border.

Jose Jose Baltazar was discovered hiding in a cave near Presidio, Texas, along with 11 other illegal aliens who had recently crossed into the U.S. and were hiking north.

“On Saturday, November 30, at approximately 9:00 p.m. agents assigned to the Presidio Station discovered footprints of several individuals near the Rio Grande River,” CBP explained in a statement.

“On Sunday, at approximately 1:45 p.m., Presidio Agents with the assistance of the CBP Alpine Air Unit using helicopter AS350 encountered 12 individuals hiding in caves. The individuals were dressed in camouflage and had carpet on the soles of their shoes. The carpet attached to the shoes is used to help hide footprints while traveling through the desert.”

Upon processing, it was discovered that Baltazar had a prior rape conviction in Jackson County, Indiana, in 2015.

“The apprehensions made by our agents in the desert of West Texas have a direct impact on the safety of the communities in which we live and work,” Big Bend Sector Chief Patrol Agent Matthew Hudak said.

“They also have a direct impact on the communities in the interior of the United States, this individual previously pleaded guilty to rape and he will not be going back to that community.”

Baltazar was sentenced to five years in prison following the conviction, and was deported back to Guatemala on January 23, 2019.

CBP recently apprehended two convicted murders re-entering the U.S. illegally during separate incidents just three days apart, as Infowars reported in November.

The Trump administration is expanding a program designed to return migrants to Mexico while they await asylum proceedings, according to reports.

Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), otherwise referred to as ‘Remain-In-Mexico,’ will be implemented at additional hotspots along the southern border, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials have revealed.

The program will be rolled in the Tucson and Del Rio sectors, which have seen an increase in illegal crossings and human trafficking after other sectors, such as Laredo and El Paso, put the protocols in place.

“Officials estimate DHS will send at least one busload each day from U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Tucson sector to the Texas border city of El Paso, according to the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the internal plans,” the Washington Post reports.

“Migrants will have interviews to determine if they would be at risk in Mexico, and if not, will be sent to Ciudad Juárez to await their U.S. immigration court hearings.”

Additionally, the Del Rio sector will see the program implemented in similar fashion.

“We’re strengthening our MPP program in Tucson sector and Del Rio sector because what we’ve seen as we’ve tracked these flows is they’re going in these sectors where MPP is maybe not as strong as it could be,” Acting DHS Secretary Chad Wolf told Fox News.

“So we’re continuing to reassess that and putting in and strengthening those measures, and we’ll see them move elsewhere but that’s part of what Border Patrol does, what CBP does and what DHS does.”

Officials credit MPP, along with increased cooperation by the Mexico government, with a massive drop in border crossings since the crisis reached a crescendo in May.

Overall border apprehensions are reportedly down some 70 percent since May, along with an 88 percent decrease in family crossings.

Border Patrol agents arrested two convicted murderers present in the United States illegally, the agency announced.

The apprehensions of the men occurred during separate incidents in Texas, just three days apart.

Both were identified as Mexican nationals with violent criminal histories.

“Wednesday, agents from the McAllen station arrested a Mexican national, later identified as Jose Mendez-Hernandez near Havana, Texas, as he entered the United States illegally,” Customs and Border Protection explained in a press release. “Record checks revealed, a prior arrest and conviction for murder by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office. Mendez-Hernandez received a sentenced of more than 20 years in prison for the murder charge.”

“Saturday morning, McAllen agents apprehended Jaime Cantu-Leal, a Mexican national, near Mission, Texas. Record checks revealed that Cantu-Leal was arrested by the McAllen Police Department in 1994 for murder. He was subsequently convicted and sentenced to 18 years confinement.”

Other recent Border Patrol actions of note include the interception of multiple tractor-trailers trafficking 56 illegal aliens at border checkpoints in Texas.

On Nov. 8th, agents at the Interstate 35 checkpoint discovered 29 individuals from Mexico, Guatemala, and Ecuador concealed in a trailer.

On Nov. 12th, an detection canine at the Highway 83 checkpoint near Laredo alerted agents to the presence of 27 individuals from Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras hidden inside a trailer.

The trucks were seized by Border Patrol and the drivers and illegal aliens were placed under arrest.

The Trump administration is working to implement new policies that would enable the collection of DNA samples from migrants who have been detained by U.S. authorities.

The biometric data would be added to a federal database used by law enforcement agencies to track criminals, a Justice Department official told the Associated Press.

“Trump administration officials say they hope to solve more crimes committed by immigrants through the increased collection of DNA from a group that can often slip through the cracks,” AP reports. “The Justice official also said it would be a deterrent — the latest step aimed at discouraging migrants from trying to enter the United States between official crossings by adding hurdles to the immigration process.”

The proposed rule is set to publish in the Federal Register on Tuesday, at which time a 20-day comment period will begin.

“The Department of Justice is proposing to amend regulations that require DNA-sample collection from individuals who are arrested, facing charges, or convicted, and from non-United States persons who are detained under the authority of the United States,” the DOJ explains in its summary. “The amendment would strike a provision authorizing the Secretary of Homeland Security to exempt from the sample-collection requirement certain aliens from whom collection of DNA samples is not feasible because of operational exigencies or resource limitations.”

“This will restore the Attorney General’s plenary legal authority to authorize and direct all relevant Federal agencies, including the Department of HomelandSecurity, to collect DNA samples from individuals who are arrested, facing charges, or convicted, and from non-United States persons who are detained under the authority of the United States.”

U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents would not be affected by the new rules, nor would children under the age of 14, according to a DOJ official.

The proposed plan is already under attack by open borders activists and ‘civil rights’ groups.

“This proposed change in policy is … transparently xenophobic in its intention,” said American Civil Liberties Union senior policy and advocacy attorney Naureen Shah.

“It seeks to miscast these individuals, many of whom are seeking a better life or safety, as threats to the country’s security.”

The DOJ recently announced it had prosecuted “the highest number of immigration-related offenses since record keeping began more than 25 years ago” during Fiscal Year 2019.

Construction of the barrier along the U.S. southern border is in full swing, with many miles completed and many more in the pipeline, according to Border Patrol chief Carla Provost.

Provost posted an update about the wall’s progress on social media, announcing that 71 miles have been completed, and another 438 are either under construction or in pre-construction.

“I’m happy to update you on the new border wall system’s progress,” Provost wrote, including a graphic providing additional information. “We’ve completed 71 miles with another 162 under construction.”

“New barrier, tech, and roads will help my agents immensely in their efforts to secure the border, stay safe & protect America.”

The graphic revealed that 276 miles of border barrier are in the pre-construction phase, and that 78,000 tons of steel have been used thus far, as well as 138,000 tons of concrete.

On September 30, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) notified the public that three contracts totaling $813 million in value had been awarded for three new sections of brand new wall that will span over 60 miles in the Rio Grande Valley Sector, the busiest sector for illegal immigration and cocaine and marijuana seizures.

“The border wall system will include an 18-30 foot tall steel bollard wall, all-weather roads, lighting, enforcement cameras, and other related technology to create a complete enforcement zone,” CBP explained in a statement. “Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2020, pending availability of real estate, and will take place in locations where no barriers currently exist.”

“CBP continues to implement President Trump’s Executive Order 13767 – also known as Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements – taking steps to expeditiously plan, design, and construct a physical wall using appropriate materials and technology to most effectively achieve operational control of the southern border.”

A Virginia police officer has been suspended and blasted by his chief for detaining a suspected illegal alien with an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) warrant who was involved in a traffic accident.

According to a description of events about the incident, which occurred on September 21, an unidentified Fairfax County Police Department officer discovered that a driver involved in a multi-vehicle collision did not possess a Virginia Operator’s license, and upon further investigation, learned the driver was wanted by ICE for failure to appear at a deportation hearing.

An ICE agent responsible for the case immediately dispatched to the scene, and the officer held the suspect until custody could be transferred to the ICE agent.

The officer has since been placed on administrative leave and is under investigation for allegedly violating department policy to not detain offenders solely due to their immigration status.

Police Chief Edwin Roessler Jr. issued an official statement about the matter, slamming his own officer and touting the ‘diversity’ of Fairfax County.

“As a matter of full transparency to our community – our police officer violated our longstanding policy and deprived a person of their freedom, which is unacceptable,” Roessler wrote. “We have been informed by ICE that the driver was released after three hours and issued an ankle monitor. When I learned of this event, I directed an immediate internal investigation to look at all factors in this matter to ensure that all are held accountable for this violation.”

“Our county is one of the most diverse counties in the nation and no one should have the perception that FCPD is acting as a civil immigration agent for ICE. This matter damages our reputation and the longstanding policy that I have stated many times that our officers shall not act as immigration agents. The officer involved in this event has been relieved of all law enforcement duties pending the outcome of this investigation. It is my duty to enforce our FCPD – and Fairfax County – policies and hold all accountable for their actions.”

Roessler offered additional comments regarding disciplinary measures being taken against the officer to the Washington Post.

“This is an unfortunate issue where the officer was confused,” Roessler said. “We have trained on this issue a lot. This is the first time we’ve had a lapse in judgment, and the officer is being punished.”

U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) has announced contract awards for approximately 65 miles of new border wall construction where no current barrier exists.

Along with the Army Corps of Engineers, CBP says it has granted three separate contracts for projects in the Rio Grande Valley Sector, the busiest sector for illegal immigration and cocaine and marijuana seizures.

Construction will take place in Starr, Hidalgo and Cameron Counties in Texas.

The three contracts total nearly $813 million in value and provide funding for border barrier segments of approximately 21, 22, and 22 miles, respectively.

“These projects are not undertaken pursuant to the National Emergency Declaration, 10 U.S.C § 284, 10 U.S.C. § 2808, or any other source of funding available to the Department of Defense,” CBP makes clear in their statement.

“CBP continues to implement President Trump’s Executive Order 13767 – also known as Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements – taking steps to expeditiously plan, design, and construct a physical wall using appropriate materials and technology to most effectively achieve operational control of the southern border.”

In related news, Border Patrol Council Chief Brandon Judd says morale among agents is “looking up greatly,” due to President Trump’s support.

“He supports the agents. He supports border security,” Judd said during in a radio interview in Alabama. “Those are the factors that create a good environment for agents.”

“I mean, you would think that with the attacks that we’ve had by people like AOC calling us ‘Nazis,’ comparing us to a group that killed 6 million Jews, you would think that morale would be in the tank. But when you have a president that has our back and supports our mission, morale is going to go up. This is one of the first years in the last couple that we’ve been able to keep more agents that we’ve lost to attrition.”

President Trump is fulfilling his promises to border agents with the erection of a new see-through wall along the southern frontier, according to the acting head of Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Acting CBP Commissioner Mark Morgan shared video of the new wall system in Arizona, affirming that is it precisely what was requested by border officials.

“If you ask the men and women of Border Patrol, POTUS is giving them exactly what they’ve been asking for. This brand new bollard type wall—that’s what the experts asked for and that’s what the President is delivering,” Morgan wrote.

The video Morgan retweeted was originally shared by CBP, and highlights the stunning construction project unfolding in the Arizona desert.

“Construction crews continue work on the new border wall system along the SW border near San Luis, AZ. In partnership with [U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters], CBP has constructed over 60 miles of new border wall system along the SW border since 2017 and expects to complete 450 miles by the end of 2020,” CBP explained.

“Illegal border crossings in San Luis, AZ, in 2005 versus the same location today: In 2005, 10’ landing mat failed to impede and deny illegal entries. Today, CBP has a triple layered enforcement zone which includes an 18’ bollard wall.”

Morgan used another video shared recently by CBP San Diego to instruct the public about the efficacy of a proper border barrier in deterring criminality.

“This is why the border wall system is critical to border security,” Morgan wrote about the footage. “It increases our ability to impede and deny illegal crossings and illegal smuggling and gives our Border Patrol agents time to respond and make apprehensions.”

Migrants claiming to be traveling as families would undergo DNA testing under a new bill proposed by Rep. Lance Gooden (R-TX).

The End Child Trafficking Now Act aims to crack down on fraudulent family asylum claims, and also the practice of ‘recycling’ foreign children by illegal migrants and human traffickers.

“There are one in five cases, according to ICE, of groups of people coming over with children, saying ‘these are our children’ — when they say that, they get preferential treatment through the asylum process — and then we have later found out they are not even related, so the DNA testing helps us to determine if they’re telling the truth or not,” Rep. Gooden told Fox News.

“I believe this should have bipartisan support, I can’t imagine anyone making an argument that we shouldn’t ensure that traffickers are not trafficking and families coming across really are families,” he asserted. “I would be shocked to hear of anyone being opposed to preventing child trafficking, but I’ve been shocked before.”

The issue of child recycling has come into focus amid an unprecedented surge of ‘migrant families’ at the southern border.

In March, former DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen testified to Congress that her agency had “encountered recycling rings where innocent young people are used multiple times to help aliens gain illegal entry.”

Acting DHS Secretary Kevin McAleenan offered similar testimony to the House Oversight Committee last week, revealing that children are effectively being purchased on the black market and used as ‘tickets’ into the U.S.

“Unfortunately we see that all too often now … adults that are bringing children with them that are not their own to try and take advantage of what they perceive as a loophole in our law that would allow them to be released into the United States,” McAleenan said.

“ICE now has three significant cases in multiple cities around the country where they’ve identified a small group of children, maybe 5-8 children, being used by dozens of adults to cross our border seeking release into the United States,” he explained. “We’ve had egregious cases including a 51-year-old man who bought a 6-month child for $80 in Guatemala, and admitted that when confronted with a DNA test by a Homeland Security Investigations agent conducting a pilot at one of our border stations.”

Ilhan Omar voted down a bill that would have stopped barbaric family members from being able to mutilate the genitals of children.
