Orange County, California, has seen a 38 percent spike in repeat offenses by criminals present in the U.S. illegally due to the state’s ‘sanctuary’ policies, according to Sheriff Don Barnes.

In a press release, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department documented crimes committed by illegal aliens after their release from custody for previous offenses, including rape, domestic abuse, robbery, and assault.

“SB54 has made our community less safe. The law has resulted in new crimes because my deputies were unable to communicate with their federal partners about individuals who committed serious offenses and present a threat to our community if released,” said Sheriff Barnes.

“The two-year social science experiment with sanctuary laws must end. Rather than protect our immigrant community, the law has enabled offenders to be released, often times back into the immigrant communities they prey upon, and create new victims.”

California officially became a sanctuary state on Jan. 1, 2018, with the implementation of SB 54, which protects illegal aliens from federal immigration enforcement and severely restricts communication between police and agencies such as ICE.

“The senate bill restricts law enforcement from notifying, transferring and communicating with federal immigration authorities regarding certain offenders,” the O.C. Sheriff’s Department explains. “The implementation of this bill also effectively ended the Sheriff’s Departments 287(g) program, which allowed custody deputies to place detainers on undocumented individuals in the Orange County Jail.”

“Deputies do not ask for immigration status in the performance of their duties, and they do not make arrests for violation of federal immigration laws. However, in a custody setting, sharing information is critical to public safety and serves as a valuable tool to ensure those harming others are removed from the community.”

Prominent physician and media personality Dr. Drew Pinsky says he has given serious thought to challenging Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff for his congressional seat due to the shocking deterioration of Southern California.

Pinsky asserts that despite a deep reluctance to enter the world of politics, he is “constantly morally mobilized because of the condition of what’s going on here in California.”

“I wake up every day and drive through this town and I am morally moved where I feel like I have to do something,” Pinsky told The Hill. “We have people literally dying in our streets.”

The celebrity doctor and former “Loveline” host says his level of concern has been mounting for some time, but seeing Schiff and fellow Democrats completely wrapped up in the impeachment of President Trump pushed him over the edge.

“I was watching all the impeachment proceedings and I was going, ‘Oh my God, our Congress is tied up and we’re dying out here in California. What are these people doing?’” Pinsky said.

“I thought, ‘Oh my God, I have to run for that office at least just to get him to start participating in the governance of this region,'” he explained, alluding to Schiff.

Pinsky, a Pasadena resident, contends he would likely run as a Democrat, but describes his personal politics as “very moderate.”

“The fact that I keep thinking about it tells me how profound the problems are; that I feel obliged to maybe turn my life upside down just to get things governed out here,” Pinsky said.

Schiff is a 10-term congressman who won the 2018 election with 78 percent of the vote.

A major annual technology conference has been relocated to Las Vegas after decades in San Francisco, with organizers citing “poor street conditions” in the Bay Area as a determining factor.

OpenWorld, a tech confab presented by Oracle, has been hosted in San Francisco since 1996, but will be moved to Sin City in 2020 for at least three years.

The conference has become one of the biggest events of its kind in San Francisco, and its departure will reportedly deal a $64 million blow to the tourism and hospitality industry there.

“Oracle stated that their attendee feedback was that San Francisco hotel rates are too high,” the San Francisco Travel Association (SFTA) explained to its members in an email seen by CNBC. “Poor street conditions was another reason why they made this difficult decision.”

“The estimated economic impact of each of the above is $64,000,000, a huge loss for our city.”

OpenWorld reportedly attracts over 60,000 Oracle customers and partners every year, and the decision to pull the convention out of San Francisco has raised questions about the decaying city’s capacity to host major events.

“The move has prompted concern over whether the city, facing soaring hotel costs and homelessness, open drug use and incidents of violence on the streets that alarm visitors, can hold onto the big-business events that have long been a mainstay of its tourism and travel industries,” the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The SFTA says it is “sorry to see Oracle OpenWorld move to Las Vegas after more than 20 years in San Francisco,” but claims it will book alternate events to “fill that space in the future.”

An off-duty California police officer was nearly beaten unconscious by a mob of teens after he intervened to assist a woman who said they had stolen her cellphone, according to reports.

Two teens have been arrested and police are seeking at least eight more suspects following an attack on an unidentified female victim and a California Highway Patrol officer at a shopping center in Emeryville.

The officer, who asked to only be identified as Greg B., told KTVU he sensed a “very bad situation” developing after a lone female approached a group of teens regarding her stolen mobile phone.

Officer Greg B. says he attempted to snap photos of the group, but when they found out, they turned on him and things quickly escalated.

“It was a melee. It was chaotic. It was a really scary situation,” he said. “It should have never gotten to this point.”

After being ambushed by multiple assailants, Greg B. attempted to run away, but was surrounded and beaten, and nearly choked to unconsciousness, he says.

Greg B., a former San Quentin Prison correctional officer, says he opted not to draw his firearm, despite suffering a concussion, broken finger and bruising.

“I think this just came down to me not being able to look away and let this happen,” he said, adding that this is the third such incident in which he has intervened at the same shopping center.

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson revealed that planning is underway for an intervention into the “emergency” homeless crisis in California.

Carson asserted that it should not be the federal government’s role to intercede in such localized issues, but that the situation necessitates it, as concerns with broader implications are in play.

“The president is extremely concerned about this because of the epidemic that could occur and so we’re looking at both short term and long term,” Carson told Fox News host Harris Faulkner.

Carson asserted that the homeless must be moved from the streets into housing facilities, but that it is important to “get these people out of dependency,” as many are either mentally ill or addicted to drugs.

As Faulkner pointed out, the homeless crisis is not confined just to Californian cities, but is spreading rapidly across the U.S., with over 60,000 vagrants in New York City, over 11,000 in Seattle, and over 6,500 in Washington D.C.

Carson pointed to some successful policies being implemented in San Diego, where he says onerous regulations and bureaucracy are being rolled back in order to unshackle the housing markets, and asserted that he hopes they can serve as a good example to other cities mired in homelessness and related issues.

San Francisco residents have reportedly become so exasperated by tents being pitched on their sidewalks, they have begun placing boulders along curbs to deter hobos.

President Trump recently blasted leadership in San Francisco, indicating the EPA could soon punish the city for allowing rampant homelessness, drug abuse, and filth to spiral out of control, affecting natural resources in the area.

“If you look at San Francisco, it’s a total disaster what’s happening — they’re going to ruin those cities,” President Trump told reporters during a visit to the southern border in California. “We’re going to get involved very soon on a federal basis if they don’t clean up their act.”

“You have tents all over the place. You really have a sanitary condition because this water is rushing into the ocean, and this is supposed to be storm water. It’s not supposed to be sewage.”

“They have to clean it up,” he continued. “We can’t have our cities going to hell.”

President Trump blasted conditions in San Francisco, saying the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will likely issue a notice of violation to the city.

He indicated the federal government could soon punish the city for allowing rampant homelessness, drug abuse, and filth to spiral out of control, affecting natural resources in the area.

“If you look at San Francisco, it’s a total disaster what’s happening — they’re going to ruin those cities,” President Trump told reporters during a visit to the southern border in California. “We’re going to get involved very soon on a federal basis if they don’t clean up their act.”

“They have to clean it up,” he continued. “We can’t have our cities going to hell.”

Trump supplemented that warning with additional comments aboard Air Force One.

“It’s a terrible situation — that’s in Los Angeles and in San Francisco,” Trump said, according to White House reporters. “And we’re going to be giving San Francisco — they’re in total violation — we’re going to be giving them a notice very soon.”

“EPA is going to be putting out a notice. They’re in serious violation.”

A popular Sacramento river is contaminated with dangerous levels of E. coli bacteria due to human feces being introduced by vagrants, according to reports.

Testing conducted this summer by the Sacramento Bee revealed that the water is being tainted by hundreds of homeless living in camps that “line the banks” of the American River, which is having a negative effect on swimming, angling, and other recreational activities.

“Water samples reviewed by The Bee showed dangerous E. coli spikes this summer when swimmers were present at Tiscornia Beach, a popular summertime gathering spot where the American and Sacramento rivers converge north of downtown. There, a swirling effect from the currents causes any bacteria washing from upstream to linger,” the Bee reports.

Thirteen out of 15 weekly water samples taken at the beach since June exceeded state and federal standards, records show. Those estimates determine when at least three out of every 100 swimmers would be expected to suffer ailments such as diarrhea from coming in contact with feces-fouled water.”

The Bee found that E. coli levels were as much as six times higher than the safety threshold during peak swimming season.

There are few public restrooms near the river, and officials reportedly refuse to add any more as they will likely be trashed or destroyed by vagrants, or used for drug abuse or prostitution.

Additionally, officials refuse to pin the E. coli contamination on the homeless, and instead have commissioned a multi-year study with a price tag of up to $800,000 to determine its origins.

“You don’t need a Ph.D. to say, ‘There’s somebody pooping in the river. Let’s put a bathroom out,’” Stanford University professor and water quality specialist Alexandria Boehm told the Bee, adding that she would not swim in the tainted river or allow a child into the water.

Sacramento County reportedly spent $50 million on ‘homeless services’ in 2018.

City councilors in Berkeley, California, have approved changes to the municipal code which will see “gender preferential language,” such as ‘manhole’ and ‘patrolmen,’ replaced with “gender neutral” terms.

City Councilman Rigel Robinson, a 23-year-old who recently graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, co-sponsored the ordinance.

“According to Code Publishing Company, the Berkeley Municipal Code currently contains mostly masculine pronouns,” the proposal explains. “In recent years, broadening societal awareness of transgender and gender nonconforming identities has brought to light the importance of non-binary gender inclusivity.”

In addition to replacing all references to “He, She, Him, Himself, Herself” in the existing code, an expandable list of “Gendered Terms” will be replaced, including: “Bondsman,” “Craftsmen,” “Fraternal,” “Manmade,” “Manhole,” and “Ombudsman.”

“Sorority” and “Fraternity” will be replaced by “Collegiate Greek system residence.”

The entire phrase, “The masculine pronoun includes the feminine,” will be replaced with “Words referring to a specific gender may be extended to any other gender.”

“Tonight, Berkeley City Council adopted first reading of an ordinance responding to my proposal revising the municipal code to include gender neutral pronouns,” Councilman Robinson tweeted after Tuesday’s vote. “There is power in language. This is a small move, but it matters.”

More recently, Councilman Robinson shared a screenshot of his response to an email received from a producer of Tucker Carlson Tonight inviting him to appear on the program.

“Unfortunately I won’t be able to come on the show,” Robinson wrote. “Tucker Carlson is a dangerous, xenophobic, racist, white supremacist goblin who I’m not interested in engaging with.”

Robinson also shared an image of himself appearing to be in attendance at a protest against the Trump administration, writing, “MFW there’s a fascist in the White House.”

A California man was sentenced to 14 years in prison for grooming an 11-year-old he met while playing the mobile video game ‘Clash of Clans.’

After initial contact through the game, Emilio Morales, 29, convinced the victim to establish a private correspondence on the Kik messaging app where he then “persuaded” the child to create and send him pornographic material, according to a DOJ press release.

“Morales coerced and persuaded the victim to produce and send him sexually explicit images and videos,” said the DOJ on Friday. “The conduct ceased when, despite Morales’s attempts at manipulation, the minor victim refused to participate in any further sexual activity.”

After his time in prison, Morales faces seven years of supervised release “for using the internet to coerce and entice a minor into producing child pornography.”

Morales’ grooming began in 2017 and the case involved a joint investigation between the FBI Washington Field Office’s (WFO) Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force and the Prince William County Police Department.

Additionally, assistance provided by the High Technology Investigative Unit of the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS) was described as “substantial.”

An employee of the Los Angeles Police Department has contracted a bacterial infection that could lead to typhoid fever, while at least two more are suffering from similar symptoms, the LA Times reports.

In a statement, LAPD says it “learned about an employee from our Central Division who has contracted Salmonella Typhi,” a bacterium that is responsible for typhoid fever, according to the National Center for Biotechnology Information.

“The department confirmed that a second employee has contracted a lower intestinal infection, but a specific diagnosis has not been determined,” the Times reports.

“A source who asked not to be named because they were not authorized to speak publicly said that a third employee had also left work with similar symptoms, and that all three employees were detectives.”

Typhoid fever is most commonly found in countries such as India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, but not the United States, according to the CDC.

“At this point we don’t care who is at fault, we just want these toxic work sites cleaned and sanitized,” the Los Angeles Police Protective League said in a statement. “Officers worry enough about being shot or injured policing the streets of Los Angeles, they shouldn’t also have to worry about being infected with diseases they can take home to their families simply by showing up to work.”

“Our demand is simple; clean it up and provide preventive measures before there is a massive outbreak.”

Just days ago, prominent physician and media personality Dr. Drew Pinsky offered a prediction that Los Angeles could soon be hit with a “major infectious disease epidemic.”

“I live in the great state of California, the utopia that is California, which is a nightmare,” Pinsky told radio host Brian Kilmeade. “I want to give you a prediction here: There will be a major infectious disease epidemic this summer in Los Angeles.”

“We have tens and tens of thousands of people living in tents. Horrible conditions. Sanitation. Rats have taken over the city. We’re the only city in the country, Los Angeles, without a rodent control program. We have multiple rodent-borne, flea-borne illnesses, plague, typhus.”

It is important to note that typhus and typhoid are distinctly different diseases, with typhoid being a foodborne illness that is often transmitted through contaminated food or water, while typhus is flea-borne disease that cannot be directly transmitted between humans, according to Passport Health.
