Orange County, California, has seen a 38 percent spike in repeat offenses by criminals present in the U.S. illegally due to the state’s ‘sanctuary’ policies, according to Sheriff Don Barnes.

In a press release, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department documented crimes committed by illegal aliens after their release from custody for previous offenses, including rape, domestic abuse, robbery, and assault.

“SB54 has made our community less safe. The law has resulted in new crimes because my deputies were unable to communicate with their federal partners about individuals who committed serious offenses and present a threat to our community if released,” said Sheriff Barnes.

“The two-year social science experiment with sanctuary laws must end. Rather than protect our immigrant community, the law has enabled offenders to be released, often times back into the immigrant communities they prey upon, and create new victims.”

California officially became a sanctuary state on Jan. 1, 2018, with the implementation of SB 54, which protects illegal aliens from federal immigration enforcement and severely restricts communication between police and agencies such as ICE.

“The senate bill restricts law enforcement from notifying, transferring and communicating with federal immigration authorities regarding certain offenders,” the O.C. Sheriff’s Department explains. “The implementation of this bill also effectively ended the Sheriff’s Departments 287(g) program, which allowed custody deputies to place detainers on undocumented individuals in the Orange County Jail.”

“Deputies do not ask for immigration status in the performance of their duties, and they do not make arrests for violation of federal immigration laws. However, in a custody setting, sharing information is critical to public safety and serves as a valuable tool to ensure those harming others are removed from the community.”

The body of a deceased homeless man was discovered by commuters in a New York City subway car on Tuesday night, according to reports.

The corpse was covered in bed bugs, police sources told the New York Post.

“Straphangers reported the grisly discovery and alerted police when the train pulled into Manhattan’s 59th Street-Columbus Circle station around 8:40 p.m.,” the Post reports.

“The man was pronounced dead on the scene, sources said. It was unclear how long he had been dead.”

Winter weather reportedly brings an increase in homeless people dying on NYC trains.

“It’s a sad situation — every winter this is prevalent because you have people seeking shelter on the trains,” said local transit union spokesman Nelson Rivera. “But the police come to take these people and there are no resources and nowhere to take them. They get bounced around.”

Just hours after the incident, the NYC subway system in Queens was plunged into chaos while a control tower underwent emergency fumigation for a bed bug infestation.

“At approximately 4:30pm, our management team requested a fumigation of the Continental Master Control Tower, which we immediately commenced,” the New York City Subway authority tweeted on Wednesday. “All of our personnel were evacuated from the tower.”

Deaths of homeless people in NYC have risen astronomically in the past two years, totaling 404 between July 2018 and June 2019 – a 39 percent jump from the prior fiscal year and the highest since 2006.

“The number of homeless has climbed nearly every year since [Mayor Bill] de Blasio took office, and spending on city homeless services has more than doubled,” the Post reports.

NYC now has its largest homeless population since the Great Depression, with at least 63,000 people living on the streets, according to figures tracked by Coalition for the Homeless.

An illegal alien is suspected in a brutal murder and sexual assault of a 92-year-old woman in New York City, prompting federal officials to place blame on Mayor Bill de Blasio and his city’s protection of criminals.

Reeaz Khan, a 21-year-old illegal alien from Guyana, was roaming free despite facing charges stemming from an attack on his own father in late November.

Khan, who allegedly used a broken mug to slice his father during a dispute at their home, was charged with misdemeanor assault, harassment, and criminal possession of a weapon, but “released without bail after being slapped with a temporary order of protection for his dad,” according to the New York Post.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issued a detainer for Khan, which NYPD allegedly ignored due to the city’s ‘sanctuary’ policies.

Maria Fuertes, 92, was out for a customary evening walk near her home in Queens when she encountered Khan, who is suspected of strangling and sexually assaulting her.

Fuertes was discovered hours later, lying in the street with her clothes pulled above her waist.

Her injuries included a broken spine, rib fractures, internal hemorrhaging, and tears in her vagina, the New York Daily News reports.

Khan initially told investigators he had found Fuertes lying on the ground, but when he tried to help her, he “fell down, his belt broke, his pants fell down and his penis fell near her vagina.”

He later reportedly admitted to killing Fuertes and that he “did lift up her skirt and tried to put his penis inside of her,” according to Assistant District Attorney Joseph Grasso.

Khan has been charged with second-degree murder and first-degree sexual abuse.

“It was a deadly choice to release a man on an active ICE detainer back onto the streets after his first arrest included assault and weapon charges, and he now faces new charges, including murder,” Thomas Decker, a New York field-office director of enforcement and removal operations for ICE, told the Post.

“New York City’s sanctuary policies continue to threaten the safety of all residents of the five boroughs as they repeatedly protect criminal aliens who show little regard for the laws of this nation.”

NYPD claims it never received the detainer for Khan, but ICE says it has a receipt confirming transmission of the request via fax.

“Maria Fuertes’ blood is on Mayor de Blasio’s hands,” a retired Brooklyn detective told the Post. “It was only a matter of time before this would happen.”

The suspect in a vicious attack on a New York Police Department officer was released just hours later, despite the incident being captured on camera, according to reports.

Steven Haynes, 40, allegedly punched an officer and pinned him to the ground in front of a Bank of America in Brooklyn Heights while the officer’s partner attempted to remove Haynes.

Haynes reportedly has at least 24 prior arrests and is now facing a lengthy list of charges, including “assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, disorderly conduct and an alcohol violation,” the New York Post reports.

Haynes “returned to Livingston and Court streets in Downtown Brooklyn — where police say he slugged and brawled with one of New York’s Finest on Thursday — after being cut loose, irritating local merchants who say he’s been a troublesome presence on the block for months,” the Post reports.

Michael Vitiello, manager of a local Italian restaurant, expressed his shock that Haynes is already back on the streets.

“No bail. Three hours, he was back in the same spot,” Vitiello told the Post. “They had a cop sitting there, just watching him. He got his own security ‘cuz he’s a celebrity now.”

“They could have locked him up in Bellevue last night, but they didn’t do it. Now he’s back in the street causing problems.”

New York City judges have reportedly begun releasing defendants facing ‘lower level’ charges ahead of a bail reform measure set to take effect statewide on January 1, 2020.

“The criminal justice reforms don’t take effect until Jan. 1, but the consequences can already be seen,” said former NYC Police Commissioner Bill Bratton. “The laws are seriously flawed thanks to Albany’s rush to pass it in the dead of night without debate. It’s clear the ‘reform’ itself needs to be reformed.”

More than 90,000 packages are disappearing every day in New York City as delivery thefts soar, according to the New York Times.

The city has seen a 15 percent increase in packages failing to reach their final destinations on first delivery attempt due to thieves or other miscellaneous factors, transportation experts say.

“In New York City, where more orders are delivered than anywhere else in the country, over 90,000 packages a day are stolen or disappear without explanation, up roughly 20 percent from four years ago,” the Times reports.

“We’re going to keep reminding you about this throughout the holiday shopping season,” the NYPD warned in a recent tweet detailing a list of steps shoppers should take to protect their purchases.

Police rarely investigate package theft, emboldening criminals and forcing many online shoppers and courier services to take prevention into their own hands.

NYC residents are installing doorbell cameras and replacing outdated mailboxes, or even arranging to have packages delivered to their offices or relatives’ homes.

UPS, FedEx, and Amazon are implementing a growing network of “secure delivery sites” and lockers across the city, while many local businesses are acting as trusted receivers for a small fee.

An estimated 1.7 million packages reportedly go missing nationwide on a daily basis, amounting to more than $25 million in losses.

An illegal alien charged with killing another motorist in Oregon has reportedly fled to Mexico after the local sheriff’s office ignored a detainer issued by immigration authorities.

Alejandro Maldonado-Hernandez was engaged in a high-speed road race in Aloha, Oregon, when his vehicle struck an uninvolved car, severely injuring the driver and killing his wife, Janace Ator, according to a Washington Co. Sheriff’s Office report.

Maldonado-Hernandez was subsequently arrested and charged with felony manslaughter in the second degree, felony assault in the third degree, and misdemeanor reckless driving.

“On July 16, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers encountered Maldonado-Hernandez while he was being held at the Washington County jail and lodged an immigration detainer,” ICE explained in a press release.

“On August 8, the jail failed to honor the detainer and released Maldonado-Hernandez back into the community he had previously victimized.”

Weeks later, Washington Co. Sheriff’s Office announced Maldonado-Hernandez had fled to Mexico to avoid prosecution.

“The decision to rebuff immigration detainers and not to hold dangerous individuals until ICE arrives to pick them up is a costly one,” said Nathalie Asher,” Seattle field office director for ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations.

“There is nothing that should prevent local law enforcement officials from making a simple phone call to notify ICE that a criminal alien is being released. The decision to continue to cite misguided sanctuary laws that allow dangerous criminals back on the streets, and many times the opportunity to flee prosecution, is irresponsible and jeopardizes public safety.”

“It is real slap in the face to the victims friends and family when criminal aliens, in this case a man who has caused the death of a woman and severe injuries to her husband, are released into the community due to dangerous sanctuary policies,” she continued. “How many lives have to be lost before politicians are more concerned about public safety than their own political agendas?”

An illegal alien convicted of “felony death by motor vehicle” was released in a North Carolina sanctuary county, despite a detainer issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), prompting the agency to publish a scathing statement.

Jose Barajas-Diaz, a Mexican national, was arrested on Jan. 29, 2019, by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and charged with driving while impaired and felony death by motor vehicle.

“Mr. Barajas-Diaz was convicted of felony death by motor vehicle in North Carolina Superior Court for Mecklenburg County on October 24, 2019, and given a five-year suspended sentence with credit for time served,” ICE explained in a press release. “The Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office then refused to honor the ICE detainer and instead released him back into the community.”

“By releasing an illegal alien with a serious felony criminal offense resulting in death, Mecklenburg County chose to release a serious public safety threat into the Charlotte community where he was free to potentially harm others until his capture by ICE.”

ICE agents apprehended Barajas-Diaz one week later during a targeted enforcement action.

Acting ICE Director Matt Albence also issued a strong rebuke of sanctuary policies, saying, “This is yet another example of a clear public safety threat being released into North Carolina communities rather than into ICE custody due to local sheriff policies on ICE non-cooperation.”

“Continued decisions to refuse cooperation with ICE serve as an open invitation to aliens who commit criminal offenses that these counties are a safe haven for persons seeking to evade federal authorities, and residents of Mecklenburg County are less safe due to these misguided sanctuary policies.”

ICE says over 500 detainers for criminal foreign nationals were ignored by local authorities across North Carolina during FY 2019.

A female bystander was shoved head-first into a New York City subway car by a hostile man, according to a video posted to social media.

The man appears to be engaged in a dispute with other men on a train platform in Brooklyn before he attacks the woman, who does not appear to have any connection to the original altercation.

“What? What?” the man can be heard repeatedly yelling at his opponents as he engages them physically.

Eventually, he sets his sights on the woman, who has her back turned to him and appears to be walking towards the open train door.

He shoves her forcefully from behind with both hands, causing her to slam head-first into the sidewall of the subway car.

“It happened around 7:40 p.m. on the southbound platform of the Dekalb Avenue D/M subway station, police said,” Pix11 reports.

“Authorities responded to the scene, but the people involved had dispersed, police said.”

In replies to the tweet containing the original footage, one man claims he had already encountered the suspect in the video previously.

“I’ve seen this man before,” wrote user Alex Levy. “He did the same exact thing a few month back on the actual train. He barrelled into a dozen people and started saying “So! So! SO! I NEED MY MONEY!”

Police are now investigating the incident and attempting to determine the identity of the alleged perpetrator.

New York City’s largest police union has called for a vote of no confidence in Mayor Bill de Blasio amid a rash of attacks on cops and the controversial firing of an officer involved in the death of Eric Garner five years ago.

Three officers were injured during the latest anti-cop violence, which took place in Bedford-Stuyvesant during the weekend.

“Roving, cop-hating mobs erupted in violence, taunts and gunfire in Brooklyn overnight into Sunday, leaving three officers with minor injuries,” the New York Post reported.

“Bottles and other debris were also hurled at cops from above, but no one was hit by the projectiles that are believed to have been tossed out of windows or rooftops in the sprawling Marcy projects in Bedford-Stuyvesant, the NYPD said,” the Post explained in a later report, noting that a suspect later fired nine shots into the air from a rooftop.

“It was a ‘f**k you’ to the cops,” a source said.

Following the incident, the Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York (NYC PBA) unloaded on the failing presidential candidate on social media.

“How are cops supposed to do our job in this environment? When will [NYPD] or [Mayor Bill de Blasio] stand up & say enough is enough? Chaos is running the streets. This is outrageous — we’re lucky it wasn’t worse,” the NYC PBA tweeted along with an article about the Brooklyn mayhem.

“As a handful of shoppers in a New Hampshire bookstore mill about & pay little attention to [Mayor Bill de Blasio] NYC continues to devolve into violence and mayhem. Like no other time in recent memory, the City is rudderless, effectively without effective leadership at any level,” tweeted the union’s legal counsel.

Following the controversial firing of former officer Daniel Pantaleo on Monday, NYC PBA president Patrick Lynch called for a vote of no confidence in Mayor de Blasio.

“We are asking for a no confidence vote in the mayor and the police commissioner of the city of New York,” Lynch said during a press conference. “It’s absolutely essential that the world know the New York City Police Department is rudderless and frozen. The leadership has abandoned ship and left our police officers on the street alone, without backing.”

“Have you ever seen a time when police officers were getting abused and didn’t enforce the law?” Lynch asked reporters. “You have to ask yourself, ‘Why?’ Well, I will give you the answer: we have no confidence that when we do our jobs, when we do as instructed, when we follow the law — that at the end of the day, we won’t lose our jobs or lose our lives.”

A Los Angeles business owner says she is at her wits’ end as local streets are piled with garbage and flooded with “raw sewage” by homeless people and squatters while lawmakers turn a blind eye.

Karen Hix, a lifelong resident of the area whose family has owned a business in the same location for over 100 years, says transients are being allowed to create a “health crisis” by officials in the sanctuary city.

Hix’s plight caught the eye of Tucker Carlson, who invited her onto his show to discuss the decay of her neighborhood and share photos of the filth.

“Some of these pictures are almost too disgusting to put on the screen, but we have a number of them of RVs – people are living those full-time?” Carlson asked.

“Yes, people are living in them full-time,” Hix confirmed. “You’ll notice there is raw sewage that is coming out. This raw sewage ends up in one place – in our gutters, which go down to our ocean. It’s more than an environmental crisis, it’s a health crisis down in this area.”

“I have reached out to our councilperson, Councilman [Curren] Price; I’ve reach out to Mayor [Eric] Garcetti, and as of today, they have not contacted me.”

A shocked Carlson asked Nix how someone such as Garcetti, who lives in Los Angeles, could not notice his city is falling apart.

“I would love to have a discussion about how, ‘You have invited them here to live on our streets and our sidewalks by disregarding the laws that are actually in place and not letting our law enforcement actually enforce these laws, so now you need to deal with what this has brought’ – that’s what I would love to say to them,” Hix responded, alluding to the city’s ‘sanctuary status’ for illegal aliens and vagrants.

Interestingly, the aforementioned Councilman Curren Price was recently awarded the 2018 “Champion for Change” award by the Central American Resource Center (CARECEN), in recognition of his work on behalf of “immigrant families” residing in the district.

“Councilman Price partnered with CARECEN from 2017-2018 to provide FREE legal service and filing fee assistance to individuals and families living in CD 9,” touts Price’s website. “The program helped nearly 600 South LA neighbors with their Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and citizenship applications.”
