An armed suspect was shot dead by a homeowner during a burglary in Pascagoula, Mississippi, according to police.

The suspect, identified as Walter Williams, 31, is believed to have been involved in other home invasions in the area, local media reports.

“Williams, who is a resident of Pascagoula, allegedly broke into a home on Nathan Hale Drive Tuesday morning just before noon,” WLOX reports. “The homeowner – who was later identified as a longtime employee of the Jackson County Coroner’s Office – shot the intruder, said police.”

“Williams was known to authorities due to being in trouble with the law before. In fact, authorities say he was suspected in more than one burglaries, including one just days before he was fatally shot.”

Officials in a neighboring county were asked to handle the death investigation due to a potential conflict of interest presented by the homeowner’s connection to the local coroner’s office.

The homeowner, whose identity has not been revealed, is reportedly in the process of being appointed as deputy coroner of the Jackson County Coroner’s Office.

The case will be turned over a Grand Jury for review, but the homeowner is not expected to face any charges.

A brutal home invasion was thwarted by a pregnant woman armed with an AR-15, according to reports.

An unidentified woman in Lithia, Fla., reportedly opened fire on two men who were viciously attacking her husband and his 11-year-old daughter.

“I’ve got a fractured eye socket, a fractured sinus cavity, a concussion, 20 stitches and three staples in my head,” Jeremy King told Bay News 9. “I took a severe beating.”

Kings says two men in masks burst into his home on Wednesday night and demanded money while pointing guns at him.

“They came in heavily-hooded and masked. As soon as they had got the back door opened, they had a pistol on me and was grabbing my 11-year-old daughter,” King said.

“I’m telling them, ‘I have nothing for you,’ and they’re like, ‘Give me everything you got.’ It became real violent, real fast.”

King says the men began pistol-whipping him and kicking him in the head before his wife, who is eight months pregnant, became aware of the situation

After one of the men shot at her, she retrieved a legally-owned AR-15 rifle and returned fire, hitting one suspect as they both fled.

“When he came toward the back door in her line of sight, she clipped him,” King explained. “He made it from my back door to roughly 200 feet out in the front ditch before the AR did its thing.”

“Them guys came in with two normal pistols and my AR stopped it,” he said. “(My wife) evened the playing field and kept them from killing me.”

Police later found one suspect deceased in a ditch nearby, and are searching for the other.

A home intruder was scared off by Philadelphia Eagles star Fletcher Cox when he grabbed a shotgun and called police, according to reports.

Cox was at his home when the suspect, Corbyn Nyemah, began a siege of the property in an attempt to track down his ex-girlfriend, according to court documents obtained by ABC 6 Action News.

Nyemah allegedly damaged his ex-girlfriend’s car, which was parked at Cox’s home, before attempting to force entry into the house by “throwing rocks through the front door.”

“Court records also reveal surveillance cameras at Cox’s home capturing Nyemah walking around the exterior of the property with a baseball bat and attempting to enter the garage multiple times,” ABC 6 reports.

“After Cox armed himself with a shotgun, he called police reporting a man attempting to break into his home.”

Nyemah reportedly fled the property and led police on a chase, but was eventually apprehended by U.S. Marshals.

“Nyemah wouldn’t go on camera but didn’t deny the attack,” said WPVI reporter Chad Pradelli, who confronted Nyemah at his home.

“He told me most of what was detailed in court records was true. Police say surveillance outside Cox’s [home] captured much of the attempted burglary. Nyemah says he wanted to talk to his ex-girlfriend who he dated for 2 yrs.”

Nyemah reportedly sent a photo of himself brandishing a firearm to his ex-girlfriend following the police pursuit.

A 12-year-old girl was hauled from school in handcuffs and charged with a felony for allegedly pointing her fingers in the shape of a gun at classmates in Overland Park, Kansas.

The child was arrested on Sept. 18 after she, “unlawfully and feloniously communicated a threat to commit violence, with the intent to place another, in fear, or with the intent to cause the evacuation, lock down or disruption in regular, ongoing activities,” according to court documents reviewed by the Kansas City Star.

While school officials and authorities have reportedly declined to discuss the case, citing privacy laws, a source familiar with the course of events shared them with the Star.

“The person said that during a class discussion, another student asked the girl, if she could kill five people in the class, who would they be? In response, the girl allegedly pointed her finger pistol — like the ones many children use playing cops and robbers,” the Star reports.

“Because of that gesture, The Star was told, the girl was sent to Principal Jeremy McDonnell’s office, and the other students involved were also talked to. The school resource officer recommended that she be arrested, the source said. She was detained by police and later released to her mother.”

The child is now reportedly living with in California with her grandfather, Jon Cavanaugh, who says he is afraid for her future, as he has been advised she could face up to a year at a juvenile detention center if convicted.

“I think that this is something that probably could have been handled in the principal’s office and got completely out of hand,” Cavanaugh said. “She was just mouthing off.”

Cavanaugh says the child has no access to a real firearm and never intended to hurt anyone.

In 2013, a 7-year-old Baltimore boy made national headlines after he was suspended from school for allegedly chewing a pastry into the shape of a gun. A handful of similar incidents have played out since.

An American tennis player has been fined $10,000 for using his racket to mimic shooting a rifle at a referee in a gesture he said was intended to be “playful.”

Doubles tennis star Mike Bryan and his twin brother Bob had just successfully challenged a poor call by a line judge during a match at the U.S. Open in New York.

“The duo had been trailing by a set and had just challenged a lob that had been called in by the line judge — in favor of their opponents, Roberto Carballes Baena of Spain and Federico Delbonis of Argentina,” the New York Post reports. “A replay review showed that the ball had in fact landed out, and Bryan chose to express his frustration with his racket.”

Bryan could then be seen pointing at the judges and aiming his racket at them like a rifle and mimicking a shooting posture.

Bryan was quickly hit with a code violation for unsportsmanlike conduct, which he contested on the court.

“Just tell me what I did real quick? What was the gesture?” he asked.

Chair umpire Mariana Alves responded, “The gesture that you did. You did it to the line umpire and did it to me. You did with your racket like it was a gun. I don’t think that was appropriate.”

The U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) later fined Bryan $10,000 for the gesture, which has been called “insensitive” and “poorly timed” by critics and mainstream media, in the wake of recent mass shootings, one of which had taken place hours earlier in Texas.

“We thought it warranted that amount,” said USTA spokesman Brendan McIntyre.

Bryan has since apologized profusely for the move, saying, “We won the point and the gesture was meant to be playful. But given the recent news and political climate I understand how my gesture could be viewed as insensitive. I promise that I will never do anything like this again.”

A legally-armed citizen is being hailed as a hero after he thwarted an attempted robbery at a 7-Eleven in Virginia, shooting two perpetrators and killing one, according to reports.

Police were called to a 7-Eleven convenience store in Virginia Beach at around 2:10 am on Thursday morning, where they reportedly discovered two people had been shot, one of whom ultimately died while the other suffered life-threatening injuries.

“Investigators learned that the two males had entered the 7-Eleven and were attempting to commit an armed robbery of the store clerks,” a Virginia Beach Police spokesperson said. “Another citizen, who was already in the store and in possession of a legal weapon, confronted and ultimately shot the suspects.”

Local media spoke with customers who were in the store at the time. They called the armed civilian a “hero.”

The wounded suspect was transported to hospital while a third suspect was arrested in the vicinity.

Police say they believe the attempted heist was related to three more armed robberies that took place that night in nearby communities.

This is the second deadly shooting at a 7-Eleven in Hampton Roads in the past two weeks.

California Congressman Eric Swalwell has thrown his hat into the crowded 2020 Democrat presidential field and will center his campaign on gun control, including a “mandatory buyback” of all ‘assault weapons’ currently in possession of lawful firearms owners.

Swalwell stated his objectives in an interview with Esquire published to coincide with his formal campaign announcement on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Monday.

“I’m going to be an aspirational candidate who believes that in our lifetime we could… buyback and ban every single assault weapon,” Swalwell said. “I will be the first candidate to say that reducing gun violence has to be a top three issue.”

“Last year I wrote a bill calling for a buyback and ban on assault weapons — not just to ban future manufacturing, but to just take the 15 million that are out there and buy them back. And do what Australia did, do what New Zealand did. They’ve shown us — Australia in the 90s, New Zealand just this week — that courage in doing the right thing can protect people.”

Swalwell confirmed his intention that the “buyback” would be mandatory in an op-ed also published on Monday.

“I’m the only candidate calling for a mandatory national ban and buyback of military-style semiautomatic assault weapons,” he wrote. “It’s bold and will cost money, but it is constitutional and it rightly treats gun violence as a life-or-death matter.”

“Our children deserve better than an attempt to reduce or contain gun violence. Our goal must be to end it.”

Swalwell recently ignited a firestorm when he insinuated that the U.S. government could deploy nuclear weapons against gun owners who resist his confiscation plans.

“Make no mistake, Democrats want to eradicate the Second Amendment, ban and seize all guns, and have all power rest with the state,” tweeted Newsmax host and former NYPD officer John Cardillo with a link to an article quoting Swalwell’s call to, “Ban assault weapons, buy them back, go after resisters.”

Military veteran Joe Biggs responded to Cardillo, “So basically Rep. Swalwell wants a war. Because that’s what you would get. You’re outta your fucking mind if you think I’ll give up my rights and give the gov all the power.”

Swalwell, who was tagged in the conversation, weighed in.

“And it would be a short war my friend,” Swalwell wrote. “The government has nukes. Too many of them. But they’re legit.”

A man opening fire on a busy sidewalk in New York City is seen in harrowing CCTV footage showing pedestrians running for cover, including a young girl.

The incident unfolded on Gerard Avenue at approximately 2 pm on Friday afternoon, according to police.

NYPD posted video of the shooting as well as an enhanced screenshot of the suspect’s face.

A girl who appears to be very young can be seen walking towards the shooter before realizing he has a gun and desperately running for cover.

“According to police, the suspect approached a 19-year-old male who was with four other people,” News 12 reports. “It’s unclear what led up to the shooting, but investigators say the suspect proceeded to fire three rounds at the 19-year-old victim and the group he was with before running away.”

Police are still searching for the suspect.

A new report exposes that MS-13 members are now targeting NYPD officers and Owen asks, “How did MS-13 get this information?”

A suspect has been apprehended in the death of a man on a New York City subway platform in what police are calling a “gang-related” shooting.

Police sources have reportedly indicated the suspect is a member of MS-13 while his victim was a member of the rival 18th Street gang.

Video of the midday shooting was shared to social media and depicts multiple men scuffling on the ground outside a subway car before a series of shots are fired.

“We have a person in custody,” a police source told the New York Post. “Motive is gang-related.”

Former NYPD officer and talk show host John Cardillo reports that Mayor Bill de Blasio’s office is “preventing ICE from confirming” the suspect’s immigration status.

“This incident is beyond horrifying,” said MTA spokesman Max Young. “While our system and the city are safer than ever before, we have zero tolerance for any violence on our subways and buses, and the safety of our customers and employees will always be our number one priority.”
