Tufts University has announced it will host a temporary art project during which signs mimicking fire escape plans will be posted in buildings to inform illegal aliens how to flee potential Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids.

The “ICE Escape Signs” will be unique to each building in which they are placed, featuring floor plans and emergency exit routes.

Started by artist Jenny Polak, the project will be featured at Tufts during the coming school year as part of a broader year-long series designed to be displayed outside the art galleries called, “Walls Turned Sideways: Artists Confront the Justice System.”

“Polak will work with the Tufts community to create a series of site-respondent signs throughout campus beginning in the fall as part of her ongoing series – ICE Escape Signs. A decentered public art project, ICE Escape Signs are designed for specific floorplans and draw attention to the fact that people are living in daily fear of being caught in a raid by Immigration and Customs Enforcement,” the Tufts University Art Galleries website explains.

Venues that have already hosted the project include NJIT School of Architecture, Newark, NJ; Tompkins County Public Library, Ithaca, NY; Seven Hills Conference Center, CA; Queens Central Library Gallery, Jamaica, NY; and the Copenhagen Central Library, Denmark, according to Polak’s website.

“She’s been doing this project since the late 90s, where she’s created ICE escape signs,” Chief Curator Dina Deitsch told Tuft’s Daily. “On the visual level, it looks like a fire escape sign, but talks about immigration politics and policies, and it’s just called ‘ICE Escape Signs.’”

“For populations that are not at risk, but then also for communities that are at risk, how do you create an empathetic or sympathetic, forward-thinking space about it?”

Asked for comment by Campus Reform, Tufts University spokesman Patrick Collins said the “exhibits that are highlighted by Tufts University Art Galleries are meant to provoke and encourage thoughtful, constructive dialogue, an important aspect of Tufts’ commitment to promoting civic engagement in the lives of its students and community members.”

“As a university, we recognize the power of art to stimulate conversation about difficult issues of the day. Inclusion of artwork for exhibition does not indicate university support for the views expressed.”

Canada has assumed the leading global position for resettling refugees, taking a crown held by the United States since 1980, according to Pew Research.

The U.S. has outpaced the entire world – combined – in refugee resettlement since the passage of the Refugee Act of 1980.

However, in 2018, Canada surpassed the U.S. thanks to contrasting policies set forth by President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

“Canada resettled 28,000 refugees last year, similar to its total in 2017,” Pew Research reports. “Meanwhile, the U.S. resettled 23,000, down from 33,000 the previous year – and a recent high of 97,000 in 2016.”

“The sharp drop in U.S. refugee resettlement is in part due to the Trump administration’s decision to set a considerably lower cap on the number of refugees allowed into the U.S. than in previous years. In the U.S., the number of refugees admitted for resettlement is set by the president.”

Pew finds that the U.S. has resettled some three million refugees since 1980, while the next most generous countries, Canada and Australia, have respectively welcomed 658,000 and 486,000.

As Pew explains, “Resettled refugees do not enter their destination country until they have legal permission to do so, because they apply for refugee status while in another country. Refugees are referred by UNHCR and other nongovernmental organizations.”

Roughly half (47 percent) of globally resettled refugees in 2018 hailed from the Middle East, while 32 percent came from Africa.

In the U.S., fewer than 1 percent of refugees were resettled from the Middle East, while 51 percent came from Africa and 27 percent from Asia.

African migrants crossing into the U.S. and Europe have been found to be carrying large wads of cash.

In the fiscal year of 2019, Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) has already apprehended more migrants attempting to illegally enter the United States than the entirety of FY2018 – with over five months still to go.

The agency made the announcement on social media, revealing that last year’s totals were surpassed last week, with the vast majority of captures occurring at the southern border.

“As of last week, Border Patrol apprehensions for FY19TD (418,000+) surpassed total apprehensions for FY18 (404,142),” CBP tweeted.

“Along the Southwest border, there have been 414,000+ apprehensions so far this year, compared to 396,579 total in FY18.”

Additionally, CBP revealed that officers have rescued over 1,700 stranded migrants this year, including a 3-year-old child who was discovered abandoned in a field in Texas.

“In FY19TD, Border Patrol agents have already rescued more than 1,700 people,” CBP wrote. “With unforgiving heat on the horizon for much of the country, CBP will rescue thousands more before the end of the fiscal year.”

“Early this morning, USBP Agents found a 3-year-old boy alone and crying in a corn field in TX. He had his name & phone numbers written on his shoes. CBP is attempting to reach his family. We believe the boy was with a larger group that ran when they encountered Agents.”

Mark Morgan, who led Customs and Border Patrol under President Obama, recently warned the illegal migration catastrophe on the southern frontier is the worst in American history.

“This is a question that people really need to pay attention to: I am saying, based on 30 years of public service, that the crisis we face right now along the Southwest border is actually the worst we’ve ever experienced in our history — the worst,” Morgan said.

“We’re going to reach a million this year — that means we’re going to allow 650,000 into this country, much of which we don’t know who they are and we’ll never hear from them again.”

Cities that have opted to declare themselves as welcome zones for illegal aliens “deserve” to be targeted by President Trump’s proposed migrant dumping scheme, according to former acting director of U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Thomas Homan.

Homan asserted that migrants from around the world are seeking entrance to the U.S. in the hopes of landing in ‘sanctuary cities,’ which they hope will shower them with benefits and protection from federal authorities.

“I think they deserve to see the results of their failed polices,” said Homan.

“He played a smart hand. He knew most of these people were already going to sanctuary cities, but what he did was pull the curtain back on Democratic leadership.”

Homan called out the “pure hypocrisy” of Democrat lawmakers who push for open borders while projecting outrage when it is brought to their doorsteps.

“Because of these sanctuary policies, this is one of the reasons they come to this country,” Homan said. “They think they can enter this country illegally, move to a sanctuary city where they are provided free services, free social services, free college tuition, in-state tuition, driver’s licenses…”

“I’ve been fighting sanctuary cities for the past several years and I’ve talked about it in front of Congress and talked about with the media,” he continued. “Sanctuary cities are dangerous for the community because they knowingly release criminal aliens back into the public to re-offend… and over half will re-offend in the first year.”

“It’s dangerous for the officers of ICE, who… rather than arrest a guy in the safety of the county jail — now we have to go to the neighborhood and find the rest of them,” Homan said. “It doesn’t protect the immigrant community because ICE goes into the community to find the bad guys, and they’re mostly likely going to find others that weren’t even on the radar.”

The lack of criticism from the left of Ilhan Omar and AOC is evidence of the left’s double standards.

National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd expressed his disgust with mainstream media and leftists who bash border enforcement agents while idealizing illegal aliens.

Judd slammed the double-standard being applied by the globalist press during an interview on Fox and Friends on Thursday.

“It’s so frustrating and disappointing to see that border patrol agents are vilified for strictly enforcing the laws that Congress put in place,” Judd said. “We’re trying to protect the American public. Yet, they romanticize those people crossing the border illegally and vilify the good guys that are trying to do the job for the American public.”

Judd also addressed the on-going migrant crisis at the U.S. southern border, asserting that the system is totally overwhelmed as hundreds of thousands of migrants pour into the country.

“What we are looking at is all of our resources being pulled from the field as [Chief Patrol Agent Rodolfo Karisch] testified that we just don’t have the resources in the field to deal with the numbers of people that are crossing the border,” Judd said. “And what we have to look at is the number of people that are actually getting away, evading apprehension. Texas Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz from the same sector said within this fiscal year alone, we have 25,000 people that were able to evade apprehension.”

“Those are people we do not know what their purpose for coming into the United States are. We don’t know where they are from. That’s a very dangerous situation and dynamic we are setting up.”

Judd expressed his approval of Kevin McAleenan stepping into the role of acting DHS head following the departure of Kirstjen Nielsen, whom Judd believes was not cut out for the job.

“It’s absolutely for the better. If you look at Secretary Nielsen, she is second to none in cybersecurity. That’s where her expertise lies. Unfortunately, she did not have that experience in border security,” he said. “So we elevated the Commissioner of Customs and Border Protection, who had a career at CBP, to face the problems that the DHS is looking at in the face right now, and that is border security.”

McAleenan recently warned that the immigration system had reached the “breaking point,” calling the migrant surge on the southern frontier “unprecedented.”

An illegal alien gang member with a lengthy criminal record has been arrested in the sanctuary state of California, suspected of murdering a San Jose woman in February, according to police.

Carlos Eduardo Arevalo Carranza, 24, is believed to have stalked 59-year-old Bambi Larson before eventually entering her home and stabbing her to death.

Larson’s body was found by her son and a co-worker. Police say she had suffered multiple stab wounds and lacerations, as well as blunt force trauma to the throat and neck.

Carranza had already been arrested at least six more times in California, prompting Immigration and Customs Enforcement to issue six detainers on him, all of which were ignored by law enforcement in Los Angeles and Santa Clara counties.

Carranza has also been deported at least once following an apprehension in 2013 by Department of Homeland Security in McAllen, Texas, according to San Jose Police Chief Eddie Garcia.

During a press conference on Tuesday, Garcia defended illegal aliens residing in California, while saying that laws shielding violent foreign criminals from federal immigration enforcement “need to be discussed with the policymakers.”

“I know where this is headed, and the questions regarding our immigration policy will come, so I am going to answer them now,” Garcia said.

“Our job as police officers in this city is to protect and embrace everyone. That includes our otherwise law-abiding undocumented residents that make this city and our country better. Those undocumented residents who are not violent or serious criminals should not fear the police.”

California officially became a “sanctuary state” on January 1, 2018, following the passage of SB 54, a summary of which can be read here.

Human traffickers are exploiting weak U.S. asylum laws and immigration policies by ‘recycling’ children used to escort adult illegal aliens into the country, according to DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.

Nielsen testified before Congress on Thursday regarding the explosive crisis unfolding at the U.S. border – a situation she said is “truly an emergency.”

“Smugglers and traffickers have caught on realizing that the outdated laws, lack of resources and bad court decisions effectively give them a free ticket into America,” Nielsen said. “Information about the weaknesses in our system has spread quickly in Central America, in fact they are advertised. And our booming economy under President Trump has made the dangerous journey even more attractive to migrants.”

“As a result, the flow of families and children has become a flood. In the past five years we have seen a 620 percent increase in families or those posing as families apprehended at the border. The last fiscal year was the highest on record.

“And of great concern to me is that the children are used as pawns to get into our country,” Nielsen continued. “We have encountered recycling rings where innocent young people are used multiple times to help aliens gain illegal entry. As a nation, we simply cannot stand for this. We must fix the system.”

Nielsen revealed that Customs and Border Patrol agents apprehended or encountered a stunning 75,000 migrants attempting to illegally enter in the United States in the month of February alone – an 80 percent increase over the same period last year – and that the agency is already on pace to apprehend more migrants in the first six months of this fiscal year than the entirety of FY 2017.

Nielsen warned that if the crisis continues on its current trajectory, it “will overwhelm the system entirely.”

She also explained that due to changing migration flows and demographics of arrivals, combined with laws and policies currently in place, most are now released into the United States “with virtually no hope of removing them in the future.”

“The vast majority of these individuals are from Central America,” Nielsen said. “While many of them initially claim asylum and are let into the United States, only one in 10 are ultimately granted asylum by an immigration judge. Unfortunately when it comes time to remove the other 90 percent, they have often disappeared into the interior of our country.”

A company has offered a discount rate of $1 billion instead of the proposed $8 billion to build 234 miles of border wall. David Knight reveals why Trump should take the deal.

Farmers and ranchers on the U.S. southern frontier are finding Islamic prayer rugs on their properties, according to a new report.

An anonymous New Mexico rancher interviewed by the Washington Examiner shed light on the crisis unfolding at the U.S.-Mexico border, asserting that many migrants illegally crossing into the U.S. are coming from much farther away than Mexico or Central America, and that the situation has grown increasingly worse in the last six months.

“There’s a lot of people coming in not just from Mexico,” she said. “People, the general public, just don’t get the terrorist threats of that. That’s what’s really scary.”

“You don’t know what’s coming across. We’ve found prayer rugs out here. It’s unreal. It’s not just Mexican nationals that are coming across.”

The rancher, along with other residents from the small New Mexico town of Animas shared additional tales of their plight, made all the more complicated by the fact that there is no local police department and the nearest sheriff’s headquarters is some 40 miles away.

“I’ve talked to several agents that I trust. There’s not a lot that I do trust, but the ones I do trust, I talk to them,” the woman said. “What Border Patrol classifies as OTMs (Other Than Mexicans) has really increased in the last couple years, but drastically within the last six months.”

“Chinese, Germans, Russians, a lot of Middle Easterners, those Czechoslovakians they caught over on our neighbor’s just last summer.”

One cattle rancher says a group of 18 women and children from the Philippines recently turned up on his neighbor’s property, where they were eventually collected by Border Patrol.

Meanwhile, Democrat lawmakers and mainstream media continue to claim President Trump and proponents of border security are merely promoting a “manufactured crisis” for political advantage.

President Trump’s assertion that America’s porous southern border is a national emergency is “absolute fiction,” according to CNN commentator Joe Lockhart, who says actual national emergencies include “climate change” and “gun violence.”

During a discussion on New Day regarding the President’s upcoming Oval Office address, the former Clinton White House Press Secretary expressed his indignation that Trump would use “public airwaves” to “spew more of these lies” and try to “create hysteria for his own political purposes.”

“If there is a humanitarian crisis here, [Trump] created it, he can fix it,” Lockhart said. “It is absolute fiction that there’s a national emergency here. We have national emergencies — climate change is a national emergency, gun violence is a national emergency. This is not. This is politics.”

“Tonight, one of two things is going to happen: We’re going to find out that Donald Trump is even more cynical than we ever knew and that he used yesterday’s briefing with the Vice President to build this up so he could get his seven minutes and we’ll just get more lies. Or we’re going to have a constitutional crisis where he, for no reason at all, declares a national emergency and starts violating US law.”

Lockhart also said if he were a network executive he would not air the President’s address live, but instead would edit it or demand text of the speech beforehand to determine “what’s true and what’s not.”

On Monday, President Trump announced that he would address the country regarding the on-going crisis at the southern border.

“I am pleased to inform you that I will Address the Nation on the Humanitarian and National Security crisis on our Southern Border,” Trump wrote. “Tuesday night at 9:00 P.M. Eastern.”

Infowars will be providing live broadcast coverage of the President’s address HERE.

The Trump administration is committed to building a border wall by any means necessary, says White House senior advisor Stephen Miller.

Activist judges and loopholes in immigration laws are ‘incentivizing’ dangerous migration to the United States, said Miller during his heated interview on Face the Nation.

“We’re going to do whatever is necessary to build the border wall to stop this on-going crisis of illegal immigration,” Miller said when asked about a looming government shutdown as Congressional Democrats have flatly refused any funding for the wall.

“This is a very fundamental issue. At stake is the question of whether or not the United States remains a sovereign country, whether or not we can establish and enforce rules for entrance into our country.”

“The Democrat party has a simple choice: they can either fight for the American working class, or promote illegal immigration — you can’t do both,” Miller said.

He warned that Democrats who refuse to work with President Trump to strengthen U.S. border security will be “continuing to preserve a model that enriches smuggling organizations, that spreads misery on both sides of the border, that kills 300 Americans a week through heroin overdoses alone.”

Miller blasted human traffickers and their enablers in the U.S. government for facilitating a mounting humanitarian crisis.

“One of the great tragedies that is going on in our country today is the loopholes in our immigration laws and the deficiencies in our immigration laws – and left-wing activist judicial rulings that incentivize the most vulnerable populations to come our country,” Miller said. “Last year, 100,000 unaccompanied alien children or children traveling with adults showed up at our southern border.”

“President Trump took dramatic action and issued an executive order directing illegal traffic to the ports of entry, but a left-wing activist judge issued a reckless nationwide injunction against the President’s order, putting thousands of lives at risk and further enriching these grotesque, heinous smuggling organizations.”
