Some immigration judges are abandoning their posts as the Trump administration tightens asylum policies and pushes for quicker resolutions to a staggering backlog of cases, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Forty-five judges left their benches in immigration courts during fiscal year 2019, a courts spokeswoman told the Times.

“We’ve seen stuff which is unprecedented — people leaving the bench soon after they were appointed,” said immigration judge Afsaneh Ashley Tabaddor, who also heads the National Association of Immigration Judges union.

“Judges are going to other federal agencies and retiring as soon as possible. They just don’t want to deal with it. It’s become unbearable.”

The Times highlights the tale of Philadelphia immigration judge Charles Honeyman, who recently retired ahead of schedule after determing there would be “a lot of cases I’m going to have to deny that I’ll feel sick over.”

Honeyman, who reportedly “vowed not to leave while Donald Trump was president,” eventually threw in the towel amid mounting pressure from the Department of Justice to show less leniency toward migrants.

Honeyman denied just 35 percent of asylum applications, while the national average for immigration courts is closer to 60 percent, according to the Times’ research.

Another departed immigration judge, Ilyce Shugall, now serves as director of the Immigrant Legal Defense Program at the Justice and Diversity Center of the Bar Association of San Francisco.

“There are many of us who just feel we can’t be part of a system that’s just so fundamentally unfair,” Ilyce told the Times, saying she feels the Trump administration is “using the court as a weapon against immigrants.”

However, as some ideologically-conflicted judges vacate their roles, many more are being added.

The number of immigration judges reportedly grew from 289 in 2016, to 442 in 2019.

Pregnant women hoping to travel to the United States would be scrutinized more closely if the Trump administration implements new policies aimed at curbing birth tourism, according to reports.

Proposed changes to B Nonimmigrant Visa provisions would empower officials responsible for issuing visas to deny such documents to foreign applicants if they are suspected of planning to exploit U.S. automatic citizenship laws.

“This change is intended to address the national security and law enforcement risks associated with birth tourism, including criminal activity associated with the birth tourism industry,” a State Department official reportedly told Axios.

The new rule could be put into effect as soon as this week.

“The Department is amending its regulation on temporary visitors in the B nonimmigrant visa classification to provide that a temporary visit for pleasure does not include birth tourism,” an abstract printed in the Unified Agenda of Regulatory and Deregulatory Actions explains.

The Center For Immigration Studies estimates there could be as many as 33,000 annual ‘tourist births’ in the U.S.

“Rome wasn’t built in a day,” another federal official told Axios. “Just the legal recognition that this is improper and wrong and not allowed is a significant step forward.”

A Chinese woman recently pleaded guilty to federal criminal charges stemming from her operation of a ‘birth tourism’ business in California.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) told CNN the indictments were the “first-ever” brought by the U.S. government against a birth tourism enterprise and its customers.

Illegal Mexican migrants are being deported deep into their homeland under new protocols implemented by the Trump administration and welcomed by the Mexican government, according to reports.

The Department of Homeland Security aims to fly at least 250 migrants into the interior of Mexico on a weekly basis.

“The plan marks a departure from past practice of releasing migrants at the border,” Fox News reports. “The idea would be to make it harder for repeat offenders to try and cross the border again if they are returned hundreds of miles away. Officials say returning people closer to their hometowns is better for them as well, and allows them to receive services from the Mexican government.”

Deportation flights from Tucson, Arizona, to Guadalajara began in December and are expected to increase by the end of January.

“This is another example of the Trump Administration working with the government of Mexico to address the ongoing border security crisis,” said DHS spokeswoman Heather Swift.

“Mexico has been a great partner in stopping illegal migration before they reach our border and in standing up the Migrant Protection Protocol which has allowed us to provide court dates to more than 55,000 individuals.”

Border apprehensions have dropped for seven consecutive months, after reaching a crescendo in May of 2019, when over 144,000 migrants attempted to cross the U.S. border, on record.

Key Trump admin programs, such as ‘Remain in Mexico’ (Migrant Protection Protocols), have contributed to the steep decline in border crossings.

Recently, the UN-funded WHO held a Global Vaccine Safety Summit where scientists admitted vaccines are killing people and adjuvants in the vaccines are part of the problem.

The Trump administration is expanding a program designed to return migrants to Mexico while they await asylum proceedings, according to reports.

Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), otherwise referred to as ‘Remain-In-Mexico,’ will be implemented at additional hotspots along the southern border, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials have revealed.

The program will be rolled in the Tucson and Del Rio sectors, which have seen an increase in illegal crossings and human trafficking after other sectors, such as Laredo and El Paso, put the protocols in place.

“Officials estimate DHS will send at least one busload each day from U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Tucson sector to the Texas border city of El Paso, according to the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the internal plans,” the Washington Post reports.

“Migrants will have interviews to determine if they would be at risk in Mexico, and if not, will be sent to Ciudad Juárez to await their U.S. immigration court hearings.”

Additionally, the Del Rio sector will see the program implemented in similar fashion.

“We’re strengthening our MPP program in Tucson sector and Del Rio sector because what we’ve seen as we’ve tracked these flows is they’re going in these sectors where MPP is maybe not as strong as it could be,” Acting DHS Secretary Chad Wolf told Fox News.

“So we’re continuing to reassess that and putting in and strengthening those measures, and we’ll see them move elsewhere but that’s part of what Border Patrol does, what CBP does and what DHS does.”

Officials credit MPP, along with increased cooperation by the Mexico government, with a massive drop in border crossings since the crisis reached a crescendo in May.

Overall border apprehensions are reportedly down some 70 percent since May, along with an 88 percent decrease in family crossings.

U.S. colleges and universities saw foreign student enrollment drop for the third year in a row, according to a new report.

Findings of annual research conducted by the Institute of International Education were released on Monday, indicating that enrollment of international students for the fall 2018 semester was down 1 percent compared to the prior year, following drops of 7 percent and 3 percent in 2017 and 2016, respectively.

Some schools have reportedly blamed the Trump administration and political climate in the U.S., according to the Associated Press.

However, the State Department says the slip is tied to applications filed during the Obama administration, and that rising costs are primarily to blame.

“What we’ve seen today is a dramatically better picture compared to last year’s declines,” said Caroline Casagrande, deputy assistant secretary for academic programs at the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, which funds the Open Doors study.

“The Trump administration has dedicated more resources than ever to international student mobility.”

Some 220,000 foreign students were reportedly granted permission to stay longer in the U.S. to acquire post-graduate professional training, up roughly 10 percent from 2017.

“China continued to send more students than any other country, followed by India and South Korea and Saudi Arabia,” the Associated Press reports. “But booming years of growth from China have leveled off. The number of overall Chinese students in the country ticked up by less than 2%, and some campuses have seen major decreases in Chinese enrollment.”

Preliminary findings for 2019 included in the new report indicate that new foreign student enrollment decreased by another 1 percent, and that the total number present in the U.S. fell by 2 percent.

An activist charged with harboring illegal aliens has been ordered not to mention President Trump during his retrial, according to reports.

Scott Warren, a volunteer with No More Deaths, faces 20 years in prison if convicted of felony charges stemming from his alleged actions aiding illegal migrants at the Arizona – Mexico border.

“U.S. District Court Judge Raner Collins granted a motion by prosecutors to bar the mention of the president during the second trial of Scott Warren, just before opening statements began,” the Associated Press reports. “His first trial ended with a deadlocked jury last June.”

Judge Collins stressed the importance that the trial should not be tainted by partisan politics.

“There should be no politics in this case. I’m not going to allow it,” Judge Collins said.

Warren’s attorney, Greg Kuykendall, claims President Trump is to blame for his client’s prosecution, and says the president should be named, “as frequently and repeatedly as anyone wants.”

Prosecutors argued in a motion filed last month that mentioning the Trump administration “would be irrelevant and could unfairly influence the jury.”

Warren’s lawyers have previously argued his apprehension was a retaliatory move in response to a report published by No More Deaths denouncing Border Patrol for destroying water provisions left out for migrants by the group’s volunteers.

The Trump administration is working to implement new policies that would enable the collection of DNA samples from migrants who have been detained by U.S. authorities.

The biometric data would be added to a federal database used by law enforcement agencies to track criminals, a Justice Department official told the Associated Press.

“Trump administration officials say they hope to solve more crimes committed by immigrants through the increased collection of DNA from a group that can often slip through the cracks,” AP reports. “The Justice official also said it would be a deterrent — the latest step aimed at discouraging migrants from trying to enter the United States between official crossings by adding hurdles to the immigration process.”

The proposed rule is set to publish in the Federal Register on Tuesday, at which time a 20-day comment period will begin.

“The Department of Justice is proposing to amend regulations that require DNA-sample collection from individuals who are arrested, facing charges, or convicted, and from non-United States persons who are detained under the authority of the United States,” the DOJ explains in its summary. “The amendment would strike a provision authorizing the Secretary of Homeland Security to exempt from the sample-collection requirement certain aliens from whom collection of DNA samples is not feasible because of operational exigencies or resource limitations.”

“This will restore the Attorney General’s plenary legal authority to authorize and direct all relevant Federal agencies, including the Department of HomelandSecurity, to collect DNA samples from individuals who are arrested, facing charges, or convicted, and from non-United States persons who are detained under the authority of the United States.”

U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents would not be affected by the new rules, nor would children under the age of 14, according to a DOJ official.

The proposed plan is already under attack by open borders activists and ‘civil rights’ groups.

“This proposed change in policy is … transparently xenophobic in its intention,” said American Civil Liberties Union senior policy and advocacy attorney Naureen Shah.

“It seeks to miscast these individuals, many of whom are seeking a better life or safety, as threats to the country’s security.”

The DOJ recently announced it had prosecuted “the highest number of immigration-related offenses since record keeping began more than 25 years ago” during Fiscal Year 2019.

Former South Carolina congressman Mark Sanford kicked off his 2020 Republican presidential campaign with a news conference in Philadelphia attended by just one supporter – a Democrat who says he will not be switching parties to cast a vote for the long shot candidate.

One reporter and two photographers were the only people in attendance at the start of Sanford’s campaign launch this week, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

“The bell in the Independence Hall tower rang at 9 a.m., and Mark Sanford took a deep breath. He grabbed a giant check for ‘one trillion dollars,’ stood next to a tiny wooden lectern, and asked me if I was ready for him to kick off a news conference announcing his bid to challenge President Donald Trump in the 2020 Republican primary,” wrote Inquirer reporter Anna Orso. “It didn’t really feel like a news conference. I was the only reporter there.”

“No other local TV station showed up to the kickoff spot, even though Fox 29′s studio is a block away. CBS3 and NBC10′s studios were within two miles of Sanford’s news conference.”

Eventually, a man whose daughter had studied under Sanford at the University of Chicago turned up to show his support for Sanford.

“Quinn, a 63-year-old retired lawyer from Center City, is a Democrat, too, and said that while he supports Sanford’s bid and believes what he’s doing is important, he has no plans to switch party registrations and vote in the GOP primary,” the Inquirer reports.

Sanford, who also served as governor of South Carolina, joined former Massachusetts Governor Bill Weld and ex-Illinois Congressman Joe Walsh in the field of challengers to President Donald Trump for the 2020 Republican nomination.

Sanford’s legacy includes major controversy stemming from an extramarital affair he had while governor, for which he nearly faced impeachment due to ethics violations committed as part of the tryst.

“Mark Sanford has been very unhelpful to me in my campaign to MAGA,” President Trump tweeted in 2018 when Sanford was seeking reelection to Congress. “He is MIA and nothing but trouble. He is better off in Argentina. I fully endorse Katie Arrington for Congress in SC, a state I love. She is tough on crime and will continue our fight to lower taxes. VOTE Katie!”

“He took a gun and shot me in the head,” Sanford told the Inquirer. “And that’s the end of that.”

During a television appearance, a New Jersey gender studies professor claimed that Donald Trump’s policies were to blame for black female obesity.

Michelle Obama would lead all Democrats vying for the White House in 2020 if she entered the presidential election race, according to respondents of a new Franklin Pierce University – Boston Herald survey.

Democrat voters in New Hampshire were asked who they would support in February’s key primary election.

When selecting from the field of declared candidates, respondents gave nearly equal support to Elizabeth Warren (25%), Joe Biden (24%), and Bernie Sanders (22%).

Sanders lost considerable ground since September, when he garnered 30% support in the same poll.

However, when presented with hypothetical candidates, voters indicated they would prefer another contender altogether.

“The poll included questions speculating what would happen if other Democrats were to enter
the race, including Former First Lady, Michelle Obama and Disney CEO, Bob Iger,” senior research fellow R. Kelly Myers explains in the poll memorandum. “Iger remains largely unknown among Democratic voters and only 4 percent indicated that they would vote for him if he were to enter the race.”

“But if Michelle Obama were to enter the race, it would change things dramatically. Twenty-six percent of Democrats would vote for her, making her the new front-runner. Under this scenario, Obama (26%) would lead Warren (20%), Biden (20%)and Sanders (15%). She would take away 4-points from Warren, 4-points from Biden and 7-points from Sanders.”

The former first lady has repeatedly stated there is “zero chance” she would run for president in 2020.

“There are so many ways to improve this country and build a better world, and I keep doing plenty of them, from working with young people to helping families lead healthier lives,” Obama told Amtrak’s The National magazine in August. “But sitting behind the desk in the Oval Office will never be one of them. It’s just not for me.”

Construction of the barrier along the U.S. southern border is in full swing, with many miles completed and many more in the pipeline, according to Border Patrol chief Carla Provost.

Provost posted an update about the wall’s progress on social media, announcing that 71 miles have been completed, and another 438 are either under construction or in pre-construction.

“I’m happy to update you on the new border wall system’s progress,” Provost wrote, including a graphic providing additional information. “We’ve completed 71 miles with another 162 under construction.”

“New barrier, tech, and roads will help my agents immensely in their efforts to secure the border, stay safe & protect America.”

The graphic revealed that 276 miles of border barrier are in the pre-construction phase, and that 78,000 tons of steel have been used thus far, as well as 138,000 tons of concrete.

On September 30, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) notified the public that three contracts totaling $813 million in value had been awarded for three new sections of brand new wall that will span over 60 miles in the Rio Grande Valley Sector, the busiest sector for illegal immigration and cocaine and marijuana seizures.

“The border wall system will include an 18-30 foot tall steel bollard wall, all-weather roads, lighting, enforcement cameras, and other related technology to create a complete enforcement zone,” CBP explained in a statement. “Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2020, pending availability of real estate, and will take place in locations where no barriers currently exist.”

“CBP continues to implement President Trump’s Executive Order 13767 – also known as Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements – taking steps to expeditiously plan, design, and construct a physical wall using appropriate materials and technology to most effectively achieve operational control of the southern border.”

Alex Jones begins this emergency broadcast by standing and delivering the details behind Trump’s move to protect the office of the President against a coup by any means necessary.
