Texas Highway Patrol Deploys Heavily-Armed Gunboats On Rio Grande

Texas authorities are deploying gunboats to patrol the Rio Grande amid a surge of cartel activity along the U.S. southern border, according to reports.

Vessels equipped with mounted automatic rifles have been floated onto the barrier river by the Texas Highway Patrol in recent days.

“Texas DPS gunboats entering the fray of the Biden Border Crisis. Those are four 3.08 cal full auto machine guns to deter cartel trouble-makers,” reported Todd Bensman, Senior National Security Fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, on Wednesday.


Bensman shared video and photos of the high-powered speed boats as they were rolled out this week.


Bensman has been stationed along the southern frontier frequently this year, warning of the massive surge of migrants illegally crossing into the U.S.




“What Biden’s border crisis looks like up close and personal on the Rio Grande near Roma, Texas last night. This smuggler and others down and up river rinsed and repeated all night long with the opposite of … opposition,” Bensman reported on May 11.




U.S. Border Patrol recently announced the highest number of apprehensions in a single month along the southern frontier in 21 years.
