Trump Praises Musk for Releasing Twitter Files, Calls on Him to Release Records on POTUS Ban

'What everyone is REALLY waiting to see, however, is the Twitter information and thought process leading up to the time of the so-called 'Election,' and ultimately the 'Deplatforming' of the President of the United States. Big moment in history,' Trump wrote in a message directed at Musk.

Former President Donald Trump on Friday gave Twitter CEO Elon Musk kudos for disclosing files on the political blacklisting of certain users, but urged him to go one step further by releasing the company’s “thought process” when it unceremoniously banned his own account.

Posting to his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote:

ELON: The Twitter releases are a revelation in that they show, in a very powerful fashion, the FBI and “Justice” illegally colluding, proving conclusively, in one more very powerful way, that the 2020 Presidential Election was Rigged & Stolen. What everyone is REALLY waiting to see, however, is the Twitter information and thought process leading up to the time of the so-called “Election,” and ultimately the “Deplatforming” of the President of the United States. Big moment in history. Thank you!

Twitter permanently suspended Trump’s personal account on January 8, 2021, two days after a chaotic protest at the US Capitol, with the company claiming they were preventing @realDonaldTrump from making a “further incitement of violence.”

The permanent ban came after Twitter issued Trump a 12-hour suspension claiming he was “inciting violence,” despite him urging protesters to remain calm and asking them to go home amid the siege on the US Capitol.

Indeed, it will be interesting to see the company’s internal communications during the Jan. 6 protest and how staff justified censoring the 45th president, as Musk himself has vowed to release “everything” concerning the company’s censorship efforts.
