Trump Says Biden Raiding Oil Reserves Because He’s ‘At The Mercy of OPEC’

"I filled them up three years ago, right to the top, when oil prices were very low. Those reserves are meant to be used for serious emergencies, like war, and nothing else," former president says.

Former President Donald Trump said Tuesday that Joe Biden is raiding strategic oil reserves because he’s “at the mercy of OPEC” to reduce domestic gas prices.

“I understand that Joe Biden will be announcing an ‘attack’ on the newly brimming Strategic Oil Reserves so that he could get the close to record-setting high oil prices artificially lowered,” Trump said in a statement.

“For decades our Country’s very important Strategic Oil Reserves were low or virtually empty in that no President wanted to pay the price of filling them up,” he continued. “I filled them up three years ago, right to the top, when oil prices were very low. Those reserves are meant to be used for serious emergencies, like war, and nothing else.”

“We were energy independent one year ago, now we are at the mercy of OPEC, gasoline is selling for $7 in parts of California, going up all over the Country, and they are taking oil from our Strategic Reserves.”

“Is this any way to run a Country?” he asked.

Biden on Day One of his puppet presidency canceled development of the Keystone XL pipeline and is now considering whether to terminate another pipeline in Michigan.

Gas prices are now triple what they were in 2020.

Tapping into America’s strategic oil reserves during peacetime is just another way that Biden is weakening the country and harming America strategically in the long-term.
