A young woman was viciously attacked during a robbery in a New York City subway station on Sunday evening, authorities say.

The female victim, 23, was walking through a metro station in the East Village at around 6 p.m. when she was ambushed by her assailant.

Surveillance footage released by the NYPD shows the woman was staring at her phone when a masked man snuck up behind her and sucker-punched her in the head.

The suspect can be seen ripping a bag off the woman and running away.

The bag contained a MacBook laptop and debit and credit cards, authorities say.

The woman reportedly sustained injuries to her head but refused medical attention.

“The suspect was still at large Tuesday,” the New York Post reports.

“Cops describe him as about 30 years old and 5 feet 5, weighing 200 pounds, with a light complexion, medium build and facial hair.”

Infowars has chronicled frequent violent incidents in the New York City subway system, including a surge of vagrants shoving unsuspecting commuters in front of trains or off platforms.
